More Questions - Monograms and Such

I feel so clueless about some of this stuff. Still researching my pocket fold invitations and see that lots of you used Monograms to create unique touches. How does that work - getting the monogram into your invitations as well as labels and other items you used the monogram for? Also when it comes to printing the invites - who does the printing? Can I take to Kinko's and it what format will they take it in? Do I need special software to create the monograms and invites? Sorry for so many questions and hopefully my questions make sense....please let me know. Thanks again!

Some people are very crafty and talented and have made their own monograms in Powerpoint or Photoshop. I wasn't satisfied with the ones I was coming up with, so I had someone design our monograms, as well as our invitation, table numbers and part of our program. We used Pink Design Events, HIGHLY recommend her. She's very reasonably priced and has many options to choose from. www.pinkdesignevents.comAs far as printing, you have lots of options. You can use your home printer. You can take it to Kinko's or Office Max, etc and have them print it, your file can be a word doc or pdf file. Or you can have Cards and Pockets print shop do the printing for you. You just have to compare prices of things, especially if you are in a budget, and see what you are comfortable with paying for.Finally, the cutting. For the monograms, I just used my paper cutter (you can get one at Michael's for about $10 with a coupon), and cut them all out. Yes, a pain but worth it. Then I ran them through a Xyron machine to make them into stickers to put on our invitations and programs. You can also print the monograms on label paper so it is already sticky, or simply just use glue dots. If you did your printing at Kinko's, you could have them cut things our for you, it is 1.49 per cut.Don'y feel clueless about this, it is overwhelming at first! Just do your research, check out knottie bios (look on the national boards too, especially Making It Personal so you have more variety), and ask questions when you need to. GL!

I know your wedding is coming up soon and appreciate you taking the time to answer my post. I really like the pocket fold invitations and the idea of incorporating the monogram. I have been so ready to throw in the towel and give up on them, it's been such a frustrating process for me. I really want to prove to myself that I can do them and be happy with the finished product. I'm going to give it another try....thanks again for all the suggestions.
