Lake Tahoe venues

I am looking at wedding venues in Lake Tahoe, and I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions? It looks like Lakside Beach has a pretty good deal for the ceremony ($1400 including chairs, minister, 1 staff person, for 1 hour), but it would be easier to do ceremony + reception in the same place. We have a 10K budget, and will probably have around 75-100 guests so we are looking for something on the more affordable side.

Hello, Are you referring to the Lakeside beach bar and grill? Have you seen the location or just in pics? I was also interested in that location but my coworker that just got married there said she toured the venue and its in a very odd location and right next to the beach is an older looking hotel... but if you come across anything great and wouldnt mind letting me know that would be great.. I was thinking tahoe for our location but just not to sure now...Good luck Karakdanii@yahoo.com

I am getting married in Tahoe, i looked at a lot of venues, so maybe i can help.  Do you have a preference on location (South Lake or North)? Here is a quick overview of a few places: these all can do ceremony and reception at the same place:We looked at the Chateau at incline village, (north lake tahoe) I loved it, and the cordinator was awesome, but it isnt right on the lake so we chose a different place.  THe North lake tahoe event center is right on the water, and relatively inexpensive.  I think maybe you can bring your own caterer but don't quote me on that.Round hill pines (south lake tahoe)does weddings on the beach.Check all of those out, and google tahoe weddings, lots of stuff should come up.

We are also looking in the Tahoe area. We checked out Edgewood, in South Lake Tahoe, its gorgeous, but the alcohol was all served on consumption and you only get 4 hours of use (4.5 if you do the ceremony there)We also checked out Garwoods. its got a great location and the food is excellent. Its a restaurant, but you get the upstairs to yourself. We looked at the north lake tahoe conference center and weren't too excited. It is right on the water, but its a public beach... so there are a lot of people out there that can watch.... Seemed like it would make an excellent winter wedding spot.We also looked into the Lakefront Chapel. Seemed nice, but we didn't look at it. Tomorrow we are looking at another place in South Shore. It is called lakeland Village. I'll let ou know what I think, and if anyone has heard anything about this place let me know.

I was just looking at lakeside beach, not the bar & grill (unless it is the same thing? I'm not sure). Alot of the ministers have it listed as a destination spot on their websites. I love South Lake Tahoe so I am thinking I would rather stick to that area. I'm trying to gather a small list of places that I definitely want to visit when I go up there later this month. Thank you for everyone who posted so far, I will definitely put round hill pines on my list. It looks pretty in the pictures, and seems reasonably priced. Has anyone checked out Timber Cove? The pics on the website look really pretty, but it is a Best Western so I'm a bit skeptical. I was thinking of checking it out though.

I am also looking at venues in Lake Tahoe (preferably South Shore). With so many to choose from, its really difficult. Making things even more difficult is we are hoping to get married October 24th of this year. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. We would like to have the ceremony and reception in the same location if possible, but not required. We are having a small gathering (approx. 30). I found a website: simpletahoeweddings.com which looks pretty informative.

We just got back from visiting Lakeland Village, and we reserved the date! It was great, and they seemed really willing to work with us. Plus all the family and guests can stay right there... so no driving afterward!   For something this fall, I'm not sure if they have availability, but Edgewood is offering free house wine and beer for people who have their wedding before March 2010.

If you have your wedding at Lakeland Village, are you/your guests required to stay there? I haven't looked into it any further because that was the impression I got from their website, and I didn't want to limit my guests to that hotel only, but maybe I got it wrong.

Thanks! You are required to spend a certain amount at for room/townhomes to stay there, but it seems really easy to reach that. Between my parents and fi's parents, we shouldn't have a problem. Plus, we liked the idea of staying there, and our guests staying there, cause then nobody will have to drive. Oh and they give you discounts for anybody with your wedding that wants to stay there. And you get a discount for booking the ceremony and reception there too. Good luck! I actually found Lakeland Village reading through this discussion board!
