Gown Alteration ~ costing a fortune!

I love my dress but did not realize it will come with a high cost of alteration.  I just need the bottom layers to be hemmed and my train to be hooked on.Where should I go in either Sacramento or Roseville?$65 for train to be hooked on...is it reasonable?

I think $65 might be reasonable.  I have mine done, quite a bit of work, but it still came to $400.  Sorry I don't have any local suggestions, but there is sticker shock!

I paid around $300 for the hem to be raised (since I am only 5feet tall and they make dresses for taller people and don't take into consideration that short people want to get married too, with that said) and the bustle to be done up.

I got mine taken in, hemmed, bustled, and pressed for $285 in Santa Clara.

Mine is costing $400 to take in the bust, inner corset, and have it cleaned.

I found a great lady in Auburn who did my hem, bustle, neck (shortening halter top), extra hooks in back, sew in bra....for under $75! She works out of a little clothing shop, but does alterations just as a hobby. Let me know if you want her information. She is AMAZING!

My MOH went to Keepsake Bridal for both her wedding dress and her BM dress. I think she said they were reasonable.
