Combining father-daughter, mother-son dances?

We'd like to combine them for the sake of time, and because both FI and I are not the best dancers and kind of want to get this part over with quickly, and together  :-/  I know, sounds bad, but...Is anyone else doing this? I'm looking for suggestions of songs that would work for both. Thanks!

We used My Wish by Rascall Flatts for our Parent Dance. Another suggestion would be the timeless favorites, such as What a Wonderful World, The Way You Look Tonight, etc.

I've seen it done this way and it was still sweet. I definitely understand the desire to make it short and quick - I asked my DJ to keep the dances to less than 2 minutes! =)

This is what I FAR FAR FAR preferred to do (combine them), but my MIL was all in a huff about wanting her own "moment" ...she's such an AW.  Anywho, definitely think it's a good idea.  I told you my song ideas on the nest :)

I'm so glad that you consider combining them and I was afraid that I was only one thinking it.  I think it's a great idea.  I want that moment to pass quickly too since I'm only doing it for the pictures.Ask your DJ about mixing a song so that it would be appropriate for both dad and mom.  Try not to pick a love song but something classic.  Your DJ would have the best info. and will take the load off you thinking of the best song!

I think we are going to combine them too. I'm currently letting my dad look at a song list, but we might use Isn't She lovely by Stevie Wonder.oh and apparently very normal, my friend is a dance instructor and she said almost everyone she's done lessons for combines them

We are combining as well for timing sake... we want to eat and party! ;)  My Dad wanted to play AC/DC or Guns N Roses (hardy har har) but we comprimised with My Wish by Rascall Flats.  It works well for Father/Daughter and Mother/Son.

We did a "Parent Dance" and it worked fine. We used a song by Josh Groban, "You Raise Me Up."
