HELP!!! We just moved to Marin County... can we go to the civic center/court house in Marin, or just in the city??? I am clueless on this crap!Thanks in advance!

    Hi there!  I think that you can get a marriage license in any California county, so you are not restricted to Marin.  We got our marriage license in Alameda County as it was on our way to work!  Don't worry about it and pick a place that is convenient.  You should be able to do it at the courthouse though.Good luck!

    I would suggest Googling Marin County Marriage license or go to the Marin County Government website.I too, got ours in Alameda County. We both had to be present and have ID, and also it stipulated that the wedding ceremony had to take place in Alameda County to be valid.Good luck!

    Addendum to my post - a license from Alamdea County is good anywhere in California - only if you want a Confidential License is it mandatory that the ceremony MUST take place in Alameda County.
