how did you?

How did you find some of your vendors like the make-up artists and hair stylists?  The area that we're getting married in is not a big area so there are no helpful websites that I've found and I don't think there's anyone on this board that's nearby (Sonora area).  Did you just look in the yellow pages?  Any other sources?  Thanks.

I got recs on here and on yelp.com. Also, most vendors will travel for a fee, so that is always an option as well. HTH!

Agree with Sara.  I found my MUA on yelp and absolutely LOVED her...a few other girls on here are using her too.  My hairstylist that has done my hair for years traveled to us to do everyone's hair.

I found vendor recs on here, Yelp, Project Wedding, word of mouth, and through my other booked vendors. My venue provided an extensive list of recommended vendors -- a lot of them were out of our price range but a few have worked out REALLY well. We also got lucky in that our catering manager is very familiar with vendors around the area we're getting married at and she's actually planning her own wedding at the moment... so she's been super helpful.Do you know any other recent brides or brides-to-be in your area that you could compare notes with?

So, my coworker is from Sonora and she is always going on about her hairstylist there. She still drives back there (about 2 hours from where she lives now) because she won't go to anyone else. So I asked her today for the name & number of the hair stylist since i saw your post yesterday. It is: Tatum @ T & Co. (209) 532-4200. My co-worker says that Tatum is very well known around Sonora and she is definitely the best in town. Good luck!

Awesome.  Thank you.  I'll definitely have to give her a call.
