Help? Where to go for my anniversary?

I have no idea where we are going for our anniversary..We don't want to go to far because we were only able to get a few days off of work. Any suggestions on where to stay?I was thinking some place other than Monterey because we go there all the time.

my favorite "local" vacation spot is the Sea Ranch up north of San Francisco...the drive up 1 kind of sucks, but it is SO beautiful and serene there!

Sea Ranch is really really nice. I love Mendo - especially this time of year. We were there a couple of weekends ago and it was just wonderful. I have a recommendation for dinner too, if you are interested.Napa/Sonoma is always good too, especially if you want to do some wine tasting. If you're into the big city scene, you could always stay in SF.What about Half Moon Bay, SLO, or Santa Barbara? And you know I love Santa Cruz...

Our quick getaway spot has always been SLO, Pismo/Avila or Santa Ynez Valley since we used to live there... Mendo, Napa, Sonoma are so pretty but we always spend a fortune in those places.Few suggestions... SLO is great but avoid during times that school is starting/finishing, the town gets packed with parents and hotel prices get jacked up.  Avoid Pismo/Avila on holiday weekends - it gets far too busy!!!  We love staying at Sycamore in Avila - it's not anything fancy but is a great hot springs resort.  Santa Ynez Valley is a great wine spot and normally a bit more affordable than SB - Los Olivos and Solvang are fun spots to visit.

For our 4-year dating anniversary, we're going to see Wicked in SF and then stay at the King George hotel.

Have you tried Lake Tahoe? It's beautiful up there any time of the year and there's lots to do!
