bridesmaid gift question (from a newbie)

hi!  this is my first post, but i've been enjoying reading the tips and advice.  we're not getting married until april(ish) 2011, but i'd like to find a unique way to ask my bridesmaids to be bridesmaids sooner rather than later.  i thought maybe sending them flowers and ask on the little card or mailing an invitation that invites them to be a bridesmaid.  nothing too extravagant - just something to make them feel special.  i want them to know that i appreciate them sharing this process with me from the start.  any cute ideas?thank you ladies!

There are lots of cute cards on etsy dot com!  Also, stinkerpants designs does some cute "will you be my bridesmaid" cards and similar...you can check out her blog/website (just google her).  This is one thing I really wish I would have done...found the knot too late though :)Good luck!!  And WELCOME and happy planning!

You could send them Chocolate from the "Chocolate Architect". Check out their website at www.chocsilk.com... they have the yummiest chocolate out there! (And it's packaged really pretty too!)

I made my own cards and sent them out. I thought they turned out cute and were really inexpensive to make. They were really easy. To make them more personal, I included a picture of us (me and my friend) together inside with a little note about why I wanted them to be up there with me.PS. I didn't ask my friends right away, I waited until closer to the wedding. They were more than happy to help out with the initial plans regardless of title.

I found out my girls wanted to know right away whether they were part of the wedding party.  I would ask sooner rather than later.  My wedding took over a year and half to plan.  I made simple cards that said "will you be my bridesmaid/MOH" and on the inside I wrote "I promise not to make you wear an ugly dress"  They loved them and they were super easy to make! :)  GL
