Venue with lodging?

Hi everyone! I just got engaged a few weeks ago, and we're trying to pick a venue. I'm looking for a private estate (or something with a similar feel) where we can rent the whole place out, have the ceremony and reception there, and (here's the catch) stay there with the wedding party. It doesn't have to be an enormous mansion, just somewhere a group of 10+ can stay. The only places I've found so far that match this are Villa Viscaya in Santa Cruz and The Holly Farm in Carmel. Small inns or lodges could work too.Any ideas? If not, any beautiful outdoor venue suggestions would be great, too! Thanks!

http://www.foresthouse.com/It has a funky vibe that some people love or hate. I didn't check it out myself but I think it looks awesome!

Mission Ranch in Carmel; it's not private but sooo pretty! I got married at Hayes Mansion in San Jose, it's not private but is a hotel and is absolutely beautiful. Pictures in my married bio.

I thought the Archbishops Mansion in San Francisco was extremely cool.  It was built in 1904 and is now an upscale B&B, but you can rent out the whole place.  They have a bridal room, dance floor.  The website seems to be under construction now, but when i was looking for a venue I was very impressed.

The Olema Druids Hall near Point Reyes Station is amazing.  I stayed there for a few nights with my English colleagues.  They have a gourmet kitchen (actually two, if you rent the whole place), the best fireplace I've ever experienced, and the accommodations are wonderful.  The garden is lovely and private.   There is also a separate cottage.  Best Wishes!

So good to hear your friend liked Holly Farm! My budget is around 40k, so I'm really hoping that can stretch enough to make it happen. I'm waiting for them to get back to me with pricing information, but I read that their packages start at 15k. Eek.I also love Kennolyn, but we won't have enough guests to satisfy their minimum (it's 125 for a Saturday wedding). I'll have to check out the other two though, thanks!

I was just going to say that about Kennolyn..I am getting married there and they require a large number of people to stay there and then you have to pay for them to cater as well..gets super pricey for their "wedding weekend". Someone who is getting married on the Sunday after me is doing the whole wedding weekend there..wonder what their budget is...

The Holly Farm is one of the most beautiful places I've seen as a wedding venue.  They can house I think 22 people onsite, there is a main house, and little casita for the groomsmen, and a bridal sweet.  Across the street they have another property with a hot tub and then the beach is 5 minutes away.  It's just out of the way enough to feel very private and special but not too far away from civilization that you have nothing to do.  The family that runs the Holly Farm is wonderful, they will help as much or as little as you want and have been doing this for years but treat everyone like they are the only couple in the world.  I grew up next door to the Hollyfarm, worked there as a teen and well am getting married there this November, so I may be entirely bias... but it is definitely better than just any hotel and so personable, I can't help but gush about them
