a local paper store?

I am DIYing my invitations but I'm having such a hard time picking things online and I'd rather go into a store so that I can be sure of what I want (without having to pay for samples).  I don't know of any paper stores around here (other than Michael's, which I haven't had the greatest luck with).  Does anyone know of some paper stores with decent prices either near Sac or somewhere near Modesto?  I'd take one in the foothills too, but I think they're less likely to have anything.  Any suggestions would be great.  Thanks.

It's about an hour and a half away, but you could try Paper Source? (www.paper-source.com). I know there's one in Berkeley, but there might be some other locations closer to you?

I was hoping for something a little closer, but I'll definitely  keep that in mind.  Thank you.

I went to one in Modesto that had some stuff. I dont remember the name. A lot of scrapbook stores would probably have what you need.

there's a place called Green Tangerines in Rocklin (outside of Sac)...I've never been there but maybe look into it?

From the pictures on their website that store looks awesome.  I'll definitely have to check it out when we go up there in a couple weeks.  Thanks.

I would also try cardsandpockets.com  You can order samples from them before actually placing an order.

I'm getting married away so I only need announcements, but I have a design in mind (an antique map as background overlaid by vellum). I tried Michael's and JoAnn's but didn't find what I needed. There is a Papyrus outlet at the Factory Stores at Nut Tree in Vacaville, but I haven't been in yet. I think our best bet might actually be the tried and true old fashioned way....go to a local print shop. It's what they do, although they might just sell you the paper you need. Thanks for posting your question. I'll be watching this thread to see what others come up with.
