Hair up or down for an outside ceromony?

So I thought that I was set on having my hair half up and half down for the ceromony and then putting it up to dance..but my ceromony is outside and I don't want to end up looking messy..any opinions or experience? Both my hair trial were half up half down..and both looked a tad to messy for my liking

Usually if it looks a little messy you want to get a little tighter curls.  Are you going to have a hair stylist put it up or are you going to try to do it?  I have a great half up/half down I just did on my mom for a trial for my wedding here:  http://specialeventhairmakeup.shutterfly.com/

What time of year and where are you getting married? If it's someplace really warm in the middle of summer, go w/ up. Otherwise, you may appreciate the extra warmth  :)I'm doing my hair mostly down because I have it up all the time and like how it looks down. Also, it will keep me slightly warmer in November in the Santa Cruz mountains...btw, if your hair do's looked "messy," that may be an issue with how they're being done, not the fact that they're half down/half up.

I was set on having mine half up also. The ceremony was outside and it ended up being very windy. Usually my hair doesn't stay at all, but my hairstylist pinned it and let it rest for an hour and used a great hairspray. I was so surprised how well it stayed and it wasn't crunchy either. You can look at the pics in my married bio. I think if you have a good stylist it won't matter.

I had half up/half down for my outdoor wedding, you can see pics in my bio. I think it looked fine. I think maybe you should schedule another hair trial if you aren't sure about the style you picked

My wedding is in March and will be wearing my hair down. I am actually going to be doing my own hair since I already know how to style it. It's going to be very simple. My hair is already long and I will just have long loose curls in it.
