Ceremony musicians, yet again..argh

Ok, I posted this many moons ago and cannot get to that post. I actually found my musician, but he's been so flaky that I will not have to drop him. We took the time to drive all the way to Walnut Creek from South San Jose, to meet with him and agree that he would be our musician. We went over the playlist as well.  This was back in August. He was getting married in Sept, so i understood his delay in writing up a contract.Well, it's stinkin' Nov now and he has yet to send us a contract after I've frequently contact him. So now I have to research and find a new one. Grrrrr. Can I get some suggestions on ceremony musicans? I am looking at a trio or quartet. I remember someone mentioned some school in San Francisco, but i don't recall the entire name. Thanks again!

I'd imagine the school in San Francisco that you are referring to is the San Francisco Conservatory of Music.  They have this program called "Music to Go" which basically allows you to hire their students to be your musicians.  I don't personally have any experience with them, but I think I've heard good things.  I've had a couple friends go there for their masters degrees, and I know those friends are super talented, so I'm sure the all their students are quite talented.  You can check out Music to Go here:  http://www.sfcm.edu/musictogo/ .

Hope you have better luck with SF CoM than with your original musician!  Sorry to hear the first one is being so unresponsive, I know how frustrating it can be when vendors are unresponsive.  Good luck!

Hello, we are using the Exeter String Quartet. Our venue suggested them and I received more praise for them from fellow Knotties on this board. =) I contacted and the woman I spoke with Christine is the founding member as well as one of the violinist. She was very friendly and I promptly received a letter from her in the mail with more information and cost as well as a stamped envelope to return my request in! Here is their website! http://www.exeterquartet.com/About_Us.htmlHope this helps!

We used the Conservatory musicians (we had a string duo from the Music to Go program for our ceremony) and they were great. They were on-time, professional, responsive prior to the wedding about what I wanted them to play - and also very reasonably priced. I would totally recommend them!
