    How many guests?
    Church? Ocean? Mountains?

    What they looking for?

How much do they want to spend?

My friend got married at Lovers Point Park and had her reception at Tarpy's.

Definitely ocean, about 100 guests, but not sure of the budget--just know they don't have financial help from anyone.

Check out Asilomar (well priced meals and beautiful ceremony locations), Il Fornaio,  Monterey Beach Resort, East of Eden.

La Playa, Mission Ranch, Monterey Plaza are pricier but very pretty.

There are a number of inexpensive ocean view outdoor locations to do a ceremony in Monterey, Pacific Grove and Carmel which require a permit for a few hundred dollars.

If it's not critical that the reception venue be ocean view, many more options are available - lots of places listed on grapesofwrath website including fees. Embassy Suites is a good reception value but you have to go up to a guest room to see the ocean. Lots of locals choose Rancho Cañada in Carmel Valley for receptions and Laguna Seca Golf Resort is a good deal too.

    Happy hunting!
