Nail Salon Recommendations - Sacto/Elk Grove

Any recommendations for a place to have an affordable pre-wedding party getting manis/pedis in the Sacramento/Elk Grove area? A couple that I checked into were $400 - $500 - a little more than I wanted to pay.

Melody's downtown is good...off S and 18th (i think)...Avoid the Pedicure Lounge off X and 18th...I was very unhappy with them.

    I wasn't impressed with
http://www.gotminx.com/default.html...she wasn't very polite on the phone and didn't make me feel like she wanted my business. She kept saying if I had something done somewhere else I needed it off before I came to her cause it takes too much of her time to help me.

I just went to http://www.gel-queens.com/ and had my nails done for my engagement pics and Sarah did a FANTASTIC JOB!

Thanks, ladies :) I generally don't get my nails done since I'm just not into it much, but I figure it would be a fun day out before the wedding. I appreciate the recommendations and will look into them.

ETA: I guess this Shellac stuff is the new thing these days?

Yea, shellac and gel are the best I've had...they haven't ruined my nails like acryllic does.

I contacted the Gel Queens since I was concerned if it would ruin my nails (I have long, strong nails naturally so that's why I never got my nails done unless it was just painting my natural nail). They said it takes about 10 minutes to soak off the shellac or hard gel in acetone, so that is the only potential drying to the nail and such, but most people are okay with it. So maybe that's why the lady at the other place was saying to take that off first - who knows. I suppose she could have said it would take about 10 minutes if you have another treatment on your nails from somewhere else though rather than being rude about it :) They both still seem a bit on the pricey side though, but I guess it lasts for a longer time.
