July 2012 Weddings

Suggestion on photo booth picture layout...

We are having a photo booth and now I need to decide on the layout. Our colors are purple and apricot so that will be incorporated. I was very anti having our names on the photo and was considering just the wedding date. Our vendor sent us a couple of samples that included our names. Is it tacky to have names or even the date on it or would it be better to have nothing wedding-related and just have the backdrop be our colors? I've only seen one photo booth in person at a wedding and they just had strip photos and one 4x6 given to guests, no color or wording. I went to a sweet 16 that said "Sweet 16" kids name and birthdate. FI has no opinion so hoping you guys can advise!

  • I'm glad you asked because I have the same question!

  • I'm not having a photobooth (though I really wanted one!) but if I were doing one, I would just put the date, I think.

  • Our photobooth isn't really a booth (it's one of our photographers actually taking the pictures herself) so we aren't actually having anything put on the photos. The guests don't get the little strip like you do in a traditional photobooth (instead the photos are posted online and we get the rights to printing/copying/posting all of them) so I doubt my answer is particularly helpful.

The wedding I went to last month I think had the couple's monogram with their last name plus the date - I thought that was a nice way to do it, without printing their names all over the photo strip while still commemorating that the photos were from their wedding.

Just the date sounds good to me. It's remembering the wedding, the fun time they had etc etc. Or a monogram plus date like Butterfly mentioned. Either sound fine! :)
  • We own a photo booth and we put couples names and date on it. I never thought it was tacky, but if you don't like it, just do the date.

  • We are just doing the strips of photos.  It won't have anything wedding related on it.

  • We are doing just stripes of photos.  I'm not sure if this is a capability or anything with the photobooth we are having.  I would just want the date probably.

Like the PP mentioned...it is constantly said on wedding boards how rude it is to put your names/date on favors and I was thinking of this here. The pictures we got last year at the wedding we attend are among our favorites of us and I like that I can display them with the reminder is was at so-and-so's wedding. I think I will include the date, but not our names. <div>
