Buying something off of your own registry??

Soo.... I was wondering if any of you have been naughty and bought something off of your own registry? The other day I saw this frame that we registered for that was on clearence all of a sudden and that was one of the things I really wanted so I bought it. Terrible I know!! Innocent

  • I would have totally done the same thing bc chances are that it probably wont be available by the time the wedding comes around. Just make sure you mark it as bought ;)

  • I haven't but I'm tempted to! Last week the bookshelves were bogo half off and it would have saved so much money! But if things were on clearance I probably would!

  • I thought about it! The mattress topper we registered for was on clearance for an INSANE amount, but I didn't. Instead I went and registered for the other one we were thinking about, which they still had and didn't look like they were almost out of or getting rid of, like the first one.

  • I just got a $50 gift card to BBB for my birthday. It is going to be so hard to find something to spend it on that isn't on the registry. SO HARD.

  • Our duvet cover was out of stock and suddenly a few were available.  We were afraid that it wouldn't be available, so we actually purchased it from Bed Bath & Beyond.  They ordered it for us, without taking it off our registry.  That way, if someone else buys it for us, we can return one of them!  Either way, we know we have our duvet, since it most likely won't be available.

  • There was this blanket I had registered for at Macy's which was $100 full price there and on sale usually around $60.  But I found it at Marshalls for $25 and had to get it. I couldn't rationalize having someone pay that much for something that I found for so much cheaper, and well now they can buy something else for us instead  Laughing

  • I would have done the same thing. We are thinking about getting some things off the registry but mainly bc we need them sooner than later while we are working on the house.

  • We got gift cards for our housewarming party so i used them to buy a couple of things off my registry and then just added a couple more items to it to make up for it=)

  • I registered for an expanding cutting board to put over your sink. I moved to a new apartment with less counter space so I bought it!
  • I just did it this past week at Crate and Barrel!! We registered for a 9x9 and 9x13 bakers that were about to go out of stock. Someone had gotten the 9x9 and I ran out and got the 9x13 to make sure we'd have the matching set we wanted!! So glad I did!

<div>I would save that GC for after the wedding so you can get something that someone else didn't get for you. </div>

  • I bought the shams for our duvet from Pottery Barn because I received 2 gift cards totaling $75.00.  The shams were $39.00 a piece and I had already received the duvet and was afraid they would discontinue the pattern, so I bought them.  I'm glad I did, but they do still have the duvet now so it wouldn't have been an issue!
