SASE - Used for something else

So we have a family weekend at my brother's every Labor Day weekend.  This past weekend, I saw my cousin and he says to me, "Oh by the way, I'm coming to your wedding, and the brunch."  I said "Great, can you send in the RSVP."  He says, "I can't, I had to mail in my condo fees, so I used your envelop."

Really now??  Grumble!

  • hahahaha  That's really annoying!  How did he use it if it was pre-addressed to you?!

  • The F?!  That's so rude and completely ridiculous!  Tell him he has to get that card to you somehow before your RSVP date.  It's his own fault for using the pre-addressed envelope for something else.

I'd also buy him a box of security envelopes for Christmas or his next birthday, but I'm a bit passive aggressive like that.
  • Hahahahahaha, that's so incredibly rude that it's absolutely hilarious. Who does that?!?

  • That is ridiculous. I'd be pissed.

  • I would be so pissed.  I would tell him he still needs to mail it back to you otherwise you will be marking him as a no.

  • I would say "Wow, that stinks. I am sure you have another envelope lying around. Please mail the card to me by the RSVP date.." I would be SO pissed if someone did that! How rude

  • Ok, I know it's really not funny and I'd be pissed off too...but I laughed at that one.  I would be ridiculously embarrassed and would never have admitted to doing something like that!

I hope he buys a stinkin' stamp and box of envelopes!  LOL!!

  • HAHA-  That is really funny! Annoying but funny!

I thought I was being ridicules asking my F brother to send an RSVP in.  He said why do you need it.  I said because I paid for the stamp and this way I have it in writing that you will attend.  He said Gezz I said YUP!

I got my RSVP two days latter.

  • I agree with all of you.  I'm not going to "retaliate" and mark him as a no or anything.  I can add to the story a bit, his mother (my aunt - my mom's brother's wife) is a piece of work, she wanted me to figure out who was going to babysit her grandson (my cousin's kid, not the one who didn't send the RSVP back) when kids weren't even invited to the wedding.  He's a year old and I talked with my cousin's wife about it all and she doesn't want a sitter.  I got kind of mean to my aunt b/c it's the 3rd or 4th time she's asked.  I told her we are not providing babysitters and that her daughter-in-law doesn't even want one.

They are definitely disillusioned about who this whole thing is for.
