Trying on Dresses this weekend!

Everyone has been sharing their dresses and they are so beautiful.  I've been waiting for this day to come, this weekend I get to try on dresses!  I have been in this small town bridal store a few times to scope out what they have, just waiting for our schedules to work out so I could go with my MOH, my mom, and FMIL. I guess the one thing that worries me about trying them on is the sizes, i'm trying to lose some weight for the big day as well as for myself and well-being.

Good Luck!! I didn't believe that you just know its the dress when you put it on but it is true!!  Post pics.

I was the same way and worrying about the size of dress that I tried on, but once I started trying them on, I was pleasantly surprised when I found the style of dress that looked right on me.  Just have fun and enjoy the experience.  Take lots of pictures and don't rush or let anyone push you to a decision.  Good luck!!

I just found my dress this past Friday at Kleinfeld's in NY. My mother told me were going "just for the experience". I mean, it's KLEINFELD'S, right? So, I went in thinking I was going home empty handed and the VERY FIRST DRESS was the one! I tried on 3 others within in my price range but I really didn't need to. My dress will be shipped in August. It took all of an hour and a half.

I say all that to say this: Enjoy yourself...just take a minute to take it all in and BE in the moment. That was the only time that I tried on dresses or ever will try on dresses. I was in the moment but not fully in the moment because I was told (my mother paid for my dress) that it was just for the experience (she thought that I was leaning away from the higher end shops. Either way I had a ball. Take all the pictures you can with your girls and just enjoy yourself.

Have *so* much fun!!!  My advice? Stick to your guns. I love my mom and value her opinion, but if I had listened to what she suggested, I would have wound up in a gown that I was just "ehhh" about.  Don't worry if you pick something you never envisioned!  That is what happened to me and I love my dress to no end.

I agree with PPs, also definitely take pictures.  If your shop won't let you (I think David's is picky about that) have a friend/mom take them in the fitting room.  I came home from my first appointment undecided between two dresses so I posted the pictures on here and set up a poll.  The result was 34 to 3 so that made up my mind about which looked better on me!
