advice please

My finace and I finally nailed down out date (oct 7, 2012) but there are out of town guests. Do we send save the date cards now and invitations at the "normal" time? I want to give them notice considering its less than 6 months away and plane tickets etc have to be bought. Thoughts?

Save the dates are helpful for out of town guests. we sent ours last month when his out of town family started asking about them. It's probably a good time to send them out. They will have to figure out fleights and stuff.

I would definitely do STD, our wedding is planned the same weekend and we just got them out

We are date twins!!!!   I did STDs because it is on a holiday.  We sent ours out last month.  I would at least send them to the OOT guests and add the information about booking hotels if you have it.

I agree with PP. I would send your STD out now so your OOT guests have enough time to plan. HTH. As far the invites, you could send them around the same time I think considering they will be getting the STD sooner than the rest of the guests.

We are doing STDs because we are getting married in Minnesota but most of his family is in Texas where he's from.  I ordered them this week after we got our engagement pictures back, so we will send them out as soon as we get them
