Ceremony/Reception Exit

FI and I are trying to think of a fun ceremony and/or reception exit. Our venue won't allow confetti of any kind - they do allow bubbles. Bubbles are no fun to us they never blow the right way for pictures. We would LOVE sparklers but heard that Spring Lake(NJ) cops/fire marshall might fine us for them. So... ideas?! Thanks so much!!!!

Re: Ceremony/Reception Exit

  • Sparklers can be great, but I've also heard that it can be bad with drunk guest if you are using them for an exit. Maybe glow sticks of some sort or have a luminary send off at the end of the night?

  • I think the luminaries are banned too. But glow sticks.... that's a creative option!!! Have to look into that!

  • Ribbon wands? They look awesome in pictures and they're pretty cheap/ easy to make.

We are doing a sparkler send off in NJ, It is not considered a firework therefor not illegial and able to be fined. We are also feeding our guests a 2nd time a half hr before the end with butler passed foods to sober them up a bit before playing with fire lol.
  • Shoebie- I would double check that. I did a lot of research and checked laws and they all say sparklers are illegal because they are fireworks. Let me know if you do find something saying otherwise though cause that is really our fav option.

Hmm ill check with my neighbor (township cop) and get back to you we got approval to do it at our reception in nj on an army base
  • In Michael's, I once saw something akin to party poppers, except with streamers that stayed attached to the popper for easy clean-up.  Would your venues allow this?
