XP: Invitation enclosures

I got excited/antsy playing around with Vistaprint for invitations and enclosures last night, so it's gotten me thinking about what needs to be included.

I have a mock-up invitation and RSVP card done. What I'm hung up on is another enclosure with "details" on it. Our ceremony and reception are at the same site, so I hesitate to make a separate enclosure card for reception information, as our invite has the site's address on it. What I was thinking of doing was making an enclosure with accommodations information on it, and putting a map of the area on the back, marking off the ceremony/reception site, airport, and hotel where we've blocked rooms.

What do you all think? I don't want to stuff this invitation envelope with unnecessary information, when we've included a link to our website in there.

Re: XP: Invitation enclosures

  • That's exactly what I am doing.  I am making basically an "info" card that lists our website, the accommodation options and then on the back, their will be a map with directions.  I think the invitation itself should be kept more "formal" and not include the website info, so that's why I made the info card.

  • I am doing
    1-Accomodations,
    2-Map & Directions
    3-RSVP with envelope

you can see what it looks like in my planning bio...I am doing pocketfolds so they all fit nicely in the pocket=)

I think it would be fine to just add a separate enclosure with your information. Most invites Ive received if they arent pocketfolds or something similar, there is the invite and then RSVP card and then behind it usually one card with accomodations & map or something like that, as long as you put it somewhere so your guests can find the information!
  • Our invites will be the actual invite and RSVP card...no other enclosures.

We have a wedding website with all sorts of info on it and the web address is on our STD magnets.  Ceremony and reception are at the same venue, so guests don't have to travel in between.

I didn't think there was a need for another enclosure with the invite.
