Tracking Down RSVPs

Any advice for tracking down RSVPs.  My RSVP date was the 13th.  And I need final numbers this Saturday.  I've facebook messaged a bunch of friends that I don't have any other way of contacting them.  I delegated FIs side of people to FI and FMIL and my side of people to my mom.  Well, yesterday my mom said she hasn't even started asking people (I gave her the list on Tues morning).  We're still missing 80 RSVPs (for a total of 106 people).  I have no idea what to do.....

Re: Tracking Down RSVPs

  • First off, tell your mom to get on the phone!  Also, check in with FMIL to see if she has started. As for the FB only people.  I would see if you can get phone numbers from mutual friends and message again with the standard, if I don't hear from you by Friday, then I will have to mark you down as a no.

p.s. I'm sure I'll be in this same boat next week at this time!

I agree with all of this.  And if your mom isn't going to get on it, I would start calling yourself.  Give your FI some of them to call, if that helps.  FB is hard because you never know how often people check it.  Sometimes you can see people's email addresses on their profile -- I would try that address as well.  And ultimately send the message given by PP.  Tracking down RSVP's is a pain but necessary, unfortunately.

  • I am going to be in same boat in four days. We did not recieve a SINGLE RSVP this week. (okay, technically there is still one day left in week... but still!!!) I am so angry at the lack of RSVPs. I feel like "Why did I bother putting so much time and effort if they can't be bothered to respond?"  Seriously feel like telling everyone who didn't RSVP they are NOT WELCOME! </rant>.

  • I believe if you want something done right, you need to do it yourself. If I were you I would get all the phone numbers and call people myself. Let them know the date you need to know by (aka next Sunday...or the day you call them if you want) and let them know if you don't hear from them, you have to take that as a no because your caterer needs the numbers.
    Good Luck!

  • I talked to my mom last night and she STILL hasn't contacted anyone.  She says she's been really busy and very stressed out (apparently my grandma - her mom - is getting more and more forgetful by the day).  I told her to give me the phone numbers for people and I will start calling them.  She said she'd get around to it.  Oof!  On the brighter side of things, FI and FMIL came through and FI actually added the RSVPs to our little spreadsheet instead of having me do all that work.
