Re: QOTD 7/30

  • Christmas! I love the lights, and the tree and the parties and the presents. Also I'm looking forward to making traditions with FI! :) Oh and the cookies
  • Probably Christmas because of the general sense of good-will that people have. Plus I always have at least 1 week (two this year) off work.

  • I think its a tie between fourth of July and Christmas. They are both great holidays but they are so different as well. The fourth is so great because you can have cookouts with friends and family without the whole christmas drama. Fireworks are my favorite. But Christmas has such meaning and I love the giving sense of the holiday. Seeing someone opening a present you gave them is wonderful.

Christmas!!  For sure.  Being from Michigan and having the cold weather/snow, I just love the atmosphere of the season in general.  HOWEVER, if Fall could be considered a holiday, that would be my favorite :)

  • Halloween. It has always been my favorite holiday. It is just so fun.

  • Another vote for Christmas here. I love the entire Christmas season - the joy, the celebrations, decorating. I love ALL holidays though. I love pretty much any reason to celebrate and entertain.

  • Thanksgiving. I'm a girl who likes to eat! ;) It used to be Christmas, but I had a few bad ones in a row and now it's just a lot of bad memories.

  • Thanksgiving!  Not only because I get to enjoy some delicious food, but that is the holiday that my family goes all out.  It's not often that we all get to sit down with each other and enjoy a family meal.  I miss that so much!

  • This is hard!  I think it's a tie between Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas.

I love Halloween because we throw an annual party that we go all out for - completely overly decorated house, catering, DJ, awesome drinks for the adults, tons of candy for the kids, and sometimes we hire other entertainment like a magician or a card reader.  It's always a ton of fun and everyone looks forward to it.

I love Thanksgiving because I enjoy baking and cooking.  I always get to try out a new cheesecake or pie recipe.  Last year, it was our first Thanksgiving at our new home and I got to cook the turkey.  Everyone loved the way it came out and I was pretty proud of myself.

Christmas has always been awesome with my family.  We have a lot of traditions that have been in our family since my grandparents were kids.  I have a ton of great memories from throughout my life that are centered around Christmas and I love that my stepdaughters are now going to be apart of all of it too.

  • Thanksgiving!  I love the giant spread of food!  I also like that it's just about sitting down and sharing a meal with family.  There's no stress of trying to figure out what gifts to buy for people and no worrying about people spending too much money on me.
  • Thanksgiving!  I love family getting together and the amazing smells!

  • I love Thanksgiving. I have always loved the fall and Thanksgiving has always been such a nice time for the entire family to get together and enjoy a great spread without too much drama lol. Now I get two Thanksgivings because FI's family does a non-traditional Thanksgiving dinner (usually not held on Thanksgiving because of kid custody issues.)

  • You can tell we're fall brides....all love Thanksgiving/Halloween! Haha

I'm with the Thanksgiving ladies! I love the food, and cooking with family. In our family, thanksgiving is a big deal and all the recipes have been handed down from my great grandma. We also all play board games and card games after dinner and just relax and catch up.

I really love Thanksgiving because there's no pressure of gift giving and receiving or egg hunts. It's just food and family

  • Christmas.  Even though it's a crazy time bouncing between families, and inevitable drama, it is the holiday when I get to spend the most time with my family and I cherish that.

  • Fourth of July!  Christmas and Thanksgiving are so stressful for me now, trying to make everyone happy and make sure we see everyone.  I love fireworks, the summer, barbeques, and hanging out with friends/family without all the pressure of some of the other holidays.

  • I love the Christmas season the best  with all of the the lights and snow.   If we are talking the single day...my favorite is Thanksgiving.  All the food with none of the stress of gifts!

  • Does NAtional Cheesecake Day count as a holiday?  Its today if anyone was wondering.  :)

I really do love Chirstmas though.  I love all of the decorations and festivities.  I love getting together with family and hanging out.  FI and I started a tradition that we stop at Marist College and take a picture under thier tree that is all lit up after we leave out Christmas Eve parties.  Oh and I love watching FI open his presents!!

  • I'm tied between Halloween and Chrsitmas. Before my daughter, I would've just said Halloween. But having her, too, now makes Christmas so much more memorable. I love watching her face light up! And Halloween is always fun...and there's candy :)

  • Christmas is definitely my favorite. I celebrate from November 1-Decmber 31!. I love the lights, family gatherings, the smell of the candles, the food and the true meaning behind Christmas. My tv is the Hallmark channel 24 hours a day!!

My next favorite is Halloween, but this includes the entire fall season. I love the smell of the fall candles, football on tv, scary movies, kids trick-or-treating, carving pumpkins, haunted houses.

I also love Thanksgiving just as much. I love watching the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, the food, and I am a big time Black Friday shooper!!

Really, I just love September 1st through December 31st!

  • Christmas is definitely my favorite holiday.  I love spending time with family, picking out a tree, winter and everything that comes with the holiday.  I just feel a general sense of peace during that time of year.

I do also enjoy Thanksgiving, but it definitely comes in second.

  • I love halloween for the cute costumes and the candy. Tho last year I was disappointed with all the tricker treaters in my neighborhood because they were either scream or just threw makeup/paint on their face and called it a costume. If I have a halloween party I will dress up but I wont dress up at work (office is too stuffy for it tho if it wasnt I totally would lol). First thing FI said when I picked Oct 27 was, is it going to be halloween themed? lol. If I did I would totally wear my Marilyn Monroe costume!
FI loves thanksgiving for all the food lol, I on the other hand do not like thanksgiving (family drama and I'm stuffed after the first thanksgiving and we have 3 to go to each yeat!) but I do love black friday! So Black Friday is my second favorite holiday. I dont usually get much but I do like to watch the crowds. I typically start early in the year getting xmas gifts so when black friday rolls around there isnt really anything I absolutely need. I was disappointed last year, I didnt even go out until afternoon for a few small items because there was nothing good for the doorbusters.
