Re: DJ Prices

  • With taxes our DJ is $706. Normally he'd be about $100 more expensive, but two of my friends have used him and referred him to me so he gave us a discount.

We are also paying another $225 to him for uplighting.

  • $1000 for mics and sound system during ceremony and music during cocktail hour and reception.  He's one of the pricier ones in town but rated the best dj in Austin so 100% worth it because music is next to photography and food/alcohol to us.

  • eek ours is SO much more expensive.. Total ours is $2100 but it includes 5 1/2 hours of music, the extra 1 1/2 for our cocktail hour (which is a cocktail hour & half in reality...), dancing stages, the uplighting, and a couple of other little add ons.  Luckily my FMIL and FFIL are paying for it as part of our wedding present.  My FI's brother, sister, and tons of family friends all used this DJ and we've had an absolutely amazing time at every wedding so his parents really wanted us to use him.  If they weren't paying we would have definitely went a lot cheaper.

  • $695 for 5 hours of music. It's the least expenisve of his packages and probably just what we'll need. If we need to add sometime we can for a fairly good rate.

  • Ours is 575 which is 100 cheaper than his normal rate because we booked him from a bridal expo.  He charges a little bit more to play the ceremony music and my mom offered to pay for that- I think its like 100 or 150.

  • Ours is $150 for the Ceremony and $600 for the Reception/Dance.

  • Mine is pricey, $2800 for 5 hours, cocktail music, plasma tv, a montage of pictures of FI and I through the years, and im not sure what else...but they are a really good DJ company and come highly recommended in my area.
  • Ours is $1200 total but that includes ceremony music w/ wireless mics, cocktail hour, 4 hours of reception music and a photobooth for 5 hours w/ double prints and scrapbook.

  • Ours is $695 with 5 hours of music, cocktail music, and all of the necessary mics and lights and that good stuff. They originially quoted my 1100 and some travel fees, but FI is really good at negotiating and got travel fees waived, free cocktail music, and free mics/lights

  • I'm paying $670 for 8 hours of music, full lighting, glow booth, wireless mic, pro sound system and back-ups for everything on the off chance there is a breakdown but we got a major deal

  • We're paying $625 for 5 hours.  That's cheap for our area but we negotiated a discount because our venue comes with its own sound system and lighting system so we don't need the DJ to provide any of that.  They also are going to do video mixing for us at no charge.  Pretty stoked I found this company.  They totally fit the style I'm going for - modern and hip.

Most of the bigger DJ companies I contacted were charging $1000+ not including any lighting or anything extra.

  • Ours was $720 after taxes, which includes unlimited time and a basic lights show.  I just really liked one of the dj's on a personal level (some were so sleazy!!) and they had great reviews.

  • Ours is 300 and that's for the rehearsal, ceremony & reception music. He's not a PRO but I've been to a wedding he's done..and I went to HS with him so I'm cool with it. We're working a limited budget. We're gonna end up spending about 5000 total. Including what his parents are planning to give. FI"s budget is 2000, mine is about 1500 and his parents are paying for the catering which is costing 1500.

  • We're paying 550 for 4-5 hours DJ with MC.  Found him off of Craigslist, and he's actually been contracted out by a very-highly-rated DJ company before.  Said he once got a tip that he assumes was based on the fee the company charged him, and it was nearly equivalent to what he was paid for the night. So woohoo!
  • 1200 - Ceremony, cocktail hour, uplighting, 4 hr reception.

  • $1300 (including $100 referral discount), including ceremony and cocktail hour for a total of 6 hours of music.  It's a lot, but it's the least expensive "decent" DJ I found in my area.

  • $2000 for the DJ, uplighting and mongram lighting. I think just the DJ was $1250.

  • Ours normally costs $1500 for just the reception.  Since we've known this guy forever, he used to DJ middle school/high school dances when he was first building his busines, and he's from the same hometown as FI and I.  He recognized FI and I names and gave us a great discount.

$1250 for ceremony (since my cousins are playing violin, he's just giving us microphones instead of doing the music), cocktail hour, and reception.  We're paying a bit extra for up lighting and a monogram on the dance floor.  i'm so excited because he's one of the best in the area!
