need a little help!!

Ok girls, I'm having a tough time finding something like this and maybe you all have some ideas. I bought champagne glasses for my wedding party that I would like to personalize. I want it to stay classic looking. I want to put their name on it in a fancy font and I can't find any appliques for this idea. My brother in law is excellent with painting and pinstriping, but he's going to be a dad soon so he's super busy. I've heard of etching kits, but I'm not super crafty nor confident to do that. What are your thoughts? :

Re: need a little help!!

  • Etching glass is very hard :/ I have seen most people do a fun bubble paint bright colors looks cool but since thats not what your looking for I would bring it to things remembered and have them etched
  • If you're etching iwth stencils and just putting the gloop over top, it's super easy.
  • I have a horrible hand with paints and such, plus I don't want to break them or mess them up. FI has been working on his pinstriping too, and he is pretty good with calligraphy. Maybe he can get what I want
  • I've heard that you can get that "etched look" by using contact paper. I guess you would just print off a copy of the name in the font that you like & trace the outline onto the contact paper? I'm not really sure the best way to do it, but I'm sure you can find a tutorial on youtube for it. I think you can even get contact paper with patterns on it.
