Table # and place cards

Where are you all ordering yours from. I don't mind printing them myself at home. What are you all doing?

The escort cards I'm going to print from Vista Print and then hand write the names on them.  My table numbers I haven't quite decided but I really want to do a small wood slice with the number either wood burned in or painted black to look like it.  Both shouldn't cost too much.

ETA: I am doing escort cards too...not specific place cards.

  • Our venue provides the table numbers.  I thought about making my own, but I really did not want to take on another DIY project.  The ones our venue has are pretty and are similar to anything that I would come up with myself.

For escort cards (not doing place cards, just escort cards to tell people which table they're at and then they can pick whatever seat they'd like at that table), I'm printing them on card stock, punching out the corners with a lace pattern punch, and tying a Tiffany blue ribbon to the top, and a sparkly brad...they look like this (I didn't have any Tiffany blue ribbon, so I just used white for this sample...the cards also will not say the ribbon measurement either LOL).

  • I haven't checked with my venue to see if they provide them or not, if they don't I'll probably buy place cards from Staples and print on them.
It doesn't have to be perfect to be everything I want!

  • My mom bought me frames for the table number and we just printed out the numbers and placed those in the frames.  They aren't that big because I don't want them to take up too much room or be a main focus on the tables.  As for the escort cards, I will either print them myself and cut them down to size or I'll purchase the ones that you can print on from Michael's.  Keeping it pretty simple since this is something I'll have to do rather quickly right before the wedding.

  • I'm not doing table numbers but I'm also doing buffet and open seating. We'll have a few tables near the Sweetheart table that are "reserved" for immediate family and WP. Everyone else can sit where they want. For dismissing tables for the buffet the DJ is going to play a little game. He'll select two or three tables near each other and ask them a question about us, the table that gets it right gets dismissed for the buffet.

  • Our table numbers are classis Universal movie posters with a table at the bottom, I put them in the double sided frames from Ikea and spray painted them black. For escort cards I am buying place cards at staples and printing them out myself.

  • Our table #s are pics of FI and I that my sister took while we were apple picking holding up #s, pictures in planning bio.
For escort cards, the venue provides them, i dont want to take on another DIY project that will just end up in the garbage!
  • I bought a bunch of Tolsby frames from IKEA and then we are going to print our own. We are going to table names based on places that are important to us. I will probably also print our escort cards my self.

  • This is one of my favorite wedding details.  Ours are going to be sand dollars with guests names on them.  We are having them done through Lettering By Liz who is in Boston.  Table numbers, I'm still working on.  I was thinking cylinder vases of blue and green M&M's (since we are not having a candy bar) with a stick in the top that has the number on it.  This blends my desire to have a candy bar with my need to figure out table numbers.  :)

  • Our escort cards are going to be leaves made from a cricut machine (FI's best man's wife has one that we're going to play with), with guests names on them, attached to a carmel apple.

  • I ordered business cards from Vista print for the escort cards.  I haven't really thought about table numbers too much.   I will probably print some up and just put them in a simple frame.

  • My table numbers are vintage style National Park post cards in clear frames 4x6 frames that I bought at Michaels for cheap.  The escort cards I did myself.  I bought foldable buisness cards and then designed them myself, but you can also use Avery's website to design them and then just printed them on my printer.  I contemplated waiting until I knew who was sitting where to print them then so I could print the name but figured that would just put one more thing off until the end so I ask FMIL to write them when we finally get to that point.

  • Im probably going to add a leaf to my centerpiece and have the table numbers on those. For the escort cards Im useing apples and  putting leaves on them somehow (haveing decided if Im going to hot glue or use pins) and sticks 2 leaves to them. The leaves will have the table number and the persons name. I got the idea from the picture before.
