flower girl ?

ok so we were bm dress shopping last night and my sister< moh> already has a dress in the color of the bm dressed for the flower girl < she has 3 girls. the flower girl is the youngest of her kids, so needless to say she has tons of easter/christmas dresses in all colors and sizes> and i am fine with the fg wearing a dress she already has in the same color. we might use part of my dress as a sash OR my sister asked if i want her to buy a new dress in white and use part of the hemmed bm dresses as a sash? she saw pictures of weddings with the flower girls in white and was like "oh thats so cute you sure you dont want her in white?" i am still undecided i was trying to be practcial by letting her wear a dress she alreay has but my sister doesnt mind buying a new dress!

Re: flower girl ?

  • We actually just found her dress yesterday... its ivory (like mine) but has a black sash (the girls are in black)

  • I'm doing the flower girls' dresses are essentially tutu bottoms with a very simple attached top in ivory/soft white with a textured charcoal sash, no bling. The BMs will be in charcoal.  My dress is soft white/ivory and i'll be wearing a textured charcoal sash with some bling. They're dresses dont really MATCH mine in style, but the overall look is very similar.

I think that flower girls are incredibly adorable no matter what they wear!!

  • My flower girl is wearing a white dress with a horizon sash to match the BMs. HTH.
  • i love the tutus but my fg will be turning 5 the month after our wedding... i think shes too old for the tutu look! i know she will look adorable in no matter what she wears! my sister brought the one dress to see if the color was the same and my niece insisted on trying it on after all the girls were done trying on their dresses! She is so cute!
  • I don't know much about Flower girl outfits, but when I was a flower girl in my cousins wedding a gazillion years ago, I had  white dress with a pink sash and maybe a pink flower on it and her bridesmaids dresses were that same pink.  so I think white is fine, I think in the end it's whatever makes you happy.

  • I told my SIL  to get my niece (FG) a cute little white dress that had a sash or a belt.  We're going to trade out the sash for one that's made with either the same fabric I'm making the BM shawls with or fabric of the same color.  I'm trying to make it easier on them.  Niece is also FG for my sister and she's wearing a mini version of my sister's gown.  That dress was $$. If that dress looked okay with my wedding I would just have her wear it so they could get their money's worth.  But it won't look right so hopefully they were able to find a nice white dress on sale.

  • We have 2 flower girls both will be in a dress that is the same as my wedding dress but the colors of the brides maids
  • The top part of my fg dress is the same color as the bm, but the bottom is the same color as mine (ivory)
  • My flower girl is wearing a dress in our accent color but trimmed in the same color as the BM dresses.  My dress isnt white or ivory, so we had to go with a colored dress.
