Re: QOTD 3/27

  • Doing it myself. I have lousy handwriting and would love to outsource it, but it doesn't make sense in terms of time or money. Oh well! I'll write neatly, and we're probably going to print out wraparound labels for the envelopes.

  • Doing it myself, I also have bad handwriting but I like the personal feel and don't want to spend the money.
It doesn't have to be perfect to be everything I want!

  • That will be a project handed off to either my mother or my soon to be sister in law. Both offered and both can do calligraphy.

  • Doing it myself. I did all of our STD envelopes by myself . . . it sucked. My hands were killing me. I'm hoping to enlist my Mom to help with the invites. FI would help but he has serial killer handwriting lol (we joke about it all the time).

  • Doing it myself, I hand wrote all of my STDs, my handwriting isnt so bad, and since my sister has that great teacher handwriting ill probably make her help me.
For my RSVP envelopes I bought a personalized stamp so i wouldnt have to write out my address a million times:

  • Doing it myself. I will probably enlist my mom and some of the BMs too.

We got labels to put on RSVPs to avoid writing my own address on 100 envelopes.

  • Doing it ourselves.  I have two sisters who so happy to help with anything and all of us have pretty neat handwriting so I'm not worried.  I started to learn caligraphy when I was younger and never kept at it so now I'm kicking myself lol!

  • We're having our invitation designer print the addresses on the envelopes for us with a font we've selected that's on our invites.

We haven't decided yet, but I would like to do this.  If not, we'll do it ourselves.  I also got a stamp for free from VP with our address for our RSVP cards.

  • I am going to do it myself especially since there will only be about 15 to 20 invites.

  • I'm doing it myself. I'm printing return addresses on the envelopes for the RSVP's and the invitation kit I bought came with wrap around labels for the invites so I may print directly on those in colour and font that matches the rest of the invitation suite

  • Wait for it...My FI offered to do all the addresses. In calligraphy.

He took a course in it in college as an art credit; I am beyond excited because he was beautiful writing to begin with AND we don't have to pay anyone to do it.

Yet another reason that I love my man.

  • Doing it ourselves. Just printing the wrap around labels.

  • I'm doing it myself.  I'm doing what I did for save the dates, printing the addresses on clear labels in a calligraphy like font.  So easy and actually looks really really  nice!

  • I am debating just having someone do them for me.  I called around and got some pricing and I was surprised how much people charge for it.  The cheapest I found was $0.70 per line in black ink.  Color was $1 per line.  I may just do the wrap around thing like some of the pp mentioned, but I don't think it will look right with the envelope I'm using.  The invitations will be in a legal size evelope, so I'll have to test it out and see how it looks.  I really don't want to be the one to right them all out though.

  • I addressed all the STD's myself so I'll probably do the same with the invites. I hate my handwriting though! It's ok as long as I have LINES to write on but without them it always goes at a slant haha. I plan on getting a stamp for the return address so that I don't have to write that 100 times. I wish I could print the addresses on the envelopes but idk how to do that I don't have a computer/printer anyway.

  • I am having my aunt address them..she has super pretty handwriting :)
  • Just gonna do myself. I can't justify the cost of someone writing out something when I can do it. I always get compliments on my handwriting so I'm not worried about it looking sloppy. I plan to just write out the names and addresses in my normal handwriting and not do a fancy calligraphy font since I have no idea how...and even if I tried, it would probably look really bad. My handwriting is nice enough. Haha.

  • Doing it myself, with the help of BM's, MIL, etc.  Probably FI will do a lot of it though because he has the best handwriting of all of us.

I haven't looked into the price of a calligrapher, but it just seemed like a waste of money since I can write decently if I really try :)  We're also only inviting 100 people, so that's like 40 couples plus some singles/families, so not an enormous number of invitations.

This! Except my mom is an artist, though not a calligrapher. Between the two of us, we should be set. And I totally did the stamp thing for the rsvp's. It should be coming this week :)

    i love this!!!!

its funny that this topic came up because just last week i was in acmoore and there was a calligraphy set on sale... and i was like i can teach  myself, so i bought it ! i havent opened it yet.i am now doubting it but we will see! i also hate the idea of spending  my time < doing it myself />or $ ( to pay someone to do it) on something that will just get thrown in the trash( no one keeps the envelops) ! lol fi also has serial  killer handwriting which i cant always even read so hes no help ! we will just have to wait and see my final decison on this matter
  • Do it myself. I'm going to print the addresses on the envelopes in light gray with a nice font and then trace over with a pen. That's what I did for our STDs and everyone complimented me on my wonderful penmanship, bahaha tricked.
