Who announces the WP when there's no DJ?

Hi Everyone,

October 20th bride here.

I just started thinking about this today.  We won't have a live DJ.  Instead my brother will be managing the iPod/Computer playlist.  So, who announces the wedding party in the absence of a DJ?  Wedding Planner?  Officiant? Pre-decided designee?

I would think you would just need to designate someone.  Maybe if your brother's managing the music, he would be a good choice?  We are having a band (my FI plays in a big band, and they've offered to play), and the band leader will be making those announcements for us.

You'll also need to think about a microphone so everyone can hear whoever is doing the announcing.

My brother is "DJ"ing in the sense that he's manning the computer playlist, but he is way too shy to do any microphone stuff. I asked a friend that's invited to the wedding and is the events director for a large non-profit organization to MC for us. He was very honored to have been asked and I know he'll do a fantastic job.
