Some of you may remember me sharing that I was lucky and found a great groupon deal for wedding hair and makeup for day of and trial for myself and my bridesmaids for $200. Well, it was too good to be true!! I called to confirm the details for my trial appointment and was told that they were no longer going to honor the groupon deal and that I would be receiving a refund. Rediculous! I was so upset yesterday and just frustrated that this happened. That was a major savings on something that usually costs around $1k in my area.
So, I started the search all over again, knowing that there was no way in heck I would find someone for even double the price of the groupon. I decided to ask a friend that recently got married to send me the info of the person that she used. Her hair and makeup were flawless and she looked so beautiful. I knew that her artists price tag was high, but thought if I were honest with her and since I was a referral she could maybe cut me a break. Well, my luck paid out again! She is willing to discount her normal rate by more than half as long as I pay in full and provide her with a floral arrangement for a dinner party she's having tomorrow night. For $550, she is going to do hair and make for myself, my 3 bridesmaids, and the two moms. She is even throwing in a free assistant and my trial for free. Sold!!
I just really hope that the trial goes well and there aren't anymore issues with the hair and makeup. This has been, surprisingly, one of those things that has been back and forth, up and down, and stressful to say the least. I hope that I can say that I have finally checked this off my list. I'll find out for sure next week during my trial.
