NWR: rant about my boss

GEHADJSJSEJJE AHSHAJ JEHHJHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!

(that is me yelling in my head because I cannot yell out loud for fear of being fired)

My boss gave me crap today for using my cell phone when I was supposed to be watching a student. Well I was watching said student, and we were finished our lesson. I'm sorry that after waiting for a while for his other tutor to come get him, I pulled out my cell for 1 min to send a message to my ride to tell them I was running late. If you don't want me on my cellphone at all when with a student, fine. I won't do it next time. But don't you dare yell at me like I'm a child and accuse me of not watching him.

Then the icing on the cake is she goes and tells my mom about it. I'm 24 years old. I am an adult. You just dealt with me. Just because I happen to work at the same place my mom works doesn't mean she has any business "reporting" to her. Gahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

That sucks. I hope she didn't do it in front of the student, because that is seriously unprofessional. And it was dumb of her to go tell your mother also.

(and no it wasn't in front of the kid thankfully)

I wonder what my boss would have said if I just left the kid sitting there alone and caught my ride, ha!

I used to be a tutor for college students, and I had a boss come in and chew me out in front of a student over something (that I didn't even do, she just heard from someone that heard from someone that I did). We sat down and had a talk after that because I had a serious issue with that lack of professionalism, and we ended up getting along great after that. I think it gave her respect for me that I brought the situation to her attention and why I felt it was unprofessional to handle it that way.
