Mom's Dress - Another Update

This appointment was a few weeks ago. My next one is in about a week. I really just want my dress to be finished at this point so that I don't have to feel concerned about it anymore. Lol.

Anyway, in these pictures my seamstress sewed on all the sleeve/strap details and added a bow around the waist (still to be sewn on). Then she worked on the bustle (still to be completed). There are some things that are a little uneven and some things poofing in the wrong places. All kinks to be worked out.

I had a hair trial that day as well. I have naturally curly hair and hate updos on myself. Didn't like this either lol. So I'm going today to get my hair chopped off. I actually really love short hair and prefer it. I thought I needed to grow my hair out for my wedding, but I've decided to say "screw it". I don't like it long anyway. So we'll see how that turns out.

(Yes that is seamstress' leg sticking out down there. She was working on my bustle.)

I LOVE the back of that dress. It's so elegant and beautiful and flatters the line of your back perfectly. Also, I think the bow makes a really nice touch and really dresses up the waistline.

Judging by the pictures, I kind of agree - the updo just doesn't work with your hair. However, I think it would look really adorable short. A friend of mine has naturally wavy/slightly curly hair and she cut hers very short and then straightened it for her wedding - it gave her a completely different look and looked so elegant on her.

I have stick-straight hair, so I'm going to do soft curls in mine and leave it mostly down - FI loves my long hair, so I started growing it back out last summer. It was mid-back and it should be down to my waist again by October.
