the DRESS!!!

So...I have had my dress now for a few months and had not tried it on since I was at the store.  I had them add 4" to the bottom of it because the one I tried on in the store was a little short....so i FINALLY tried it on this weekend and so did my MOH....they both fit PERFECT!!! No need for alerations on both of our dresses!  Where are you on the dress

Re: the DRESS!!!

  • Dress is in, first fitting is done. The only work I need is getting it shortened, becuase apparently it was made for someone who's about 6'7". Second and final fitting is set for Sept 9! It's getting so hard not to share with FI what it looks like, but we both want it to be a surprise!
  • I've had the dress since September and just had my first fitting on Saturday. Bust is being taken in, hemmed and a bustle is being added. Looked amazing when she finished pinning it. Next appointment is August 18th.

  • I had my first fitting about a week ago.  I am altering the top to be a sweetheart neckline, hemming and add the bustle.  I will go back for a second fitting on the 15th of August.

  • I still don't have my dress.....tear.

  • I still don't have my dress either. I had ordered in back in Dec and it was supposed to be here already! Should I be freaking out? I have to call them this afternoon to get an estimated delivery date. Ugh!

  • I ordered my dress in February.  It's supposed to come in at the end of July... so on Wednesday I'm going to call again.  I'm not going to freak out until the second week of August (or so I tell myself).

I'm just sick of waiting for it! I just want to try it on again and not have it be 10 sizes too big for me!
  • I only a couple things done to my dress.  Its a halter neckline and the beading rubs the back of my neck so they are going to add a strip of satin.  Other than that...its a perfect fit!

im 5'5" and even with 4in heels my dress was too long so I needed it hemmed and taken in at the bust. I already completed my alterations months ago since I dont plan on losing any additional weight and the dress fit like a glove otherwise. Also I opted for no train.

  • I bought my dress off the rack in January. First fitting is scheduled for Aug 9th. I need to get cups sewn in, hemming, a bustle and repair to the small tear at the bottom of the corset back (yay for discounted dresses).

I ordered mine in Feb too, but they said the beginning of Sept at the very latest when I ordered.  I was hoping maybe it would come early, so I called earlier this month, but they didn't have any news....

  • I had my first fitting 2 weeks ago. All I need is the front shortened because I am short, and the bustle.

  • I am getting a bustle done and bra pads sewn in. She's also taking in the lining a little bit, because it's a little too loose around the waist.

  • Ugh, I wish I was having alterations done now! We decided to go with the seamstress whose reviews were the best, and she doesn't want me to come in until about 6 weeks before the wedding. Which makes me nervous, but everyone else I've talked to says she's both amazing and fast, so... My dress needs to be taken in a bit. It fits my boobs and is loose everywhere else! Nice problem to have, right? I'm also getting a bustle added and the skirt may need to be hemmed just a tad because I'm wearing low shoes.

  • I bought my dress last August, it came in in December, i tried it on in March of this year, my first alterations fitting is Aug 23rd. I ordered it in a custom length, 5 inches shorter bc of course they are made for people who are 6ft tall...so with 5 in off i still needed 4 in heels which i bought from DB bc im only 5'1.
The only alterations i need are cups sewn in bc i dont want to wear a bra (my dress is so fitted there is no room for one, lol) and my bustle=)
My dress is at the bridal salon!
  • I have my dress. It is actually about 3 inches too small in the hips. I'm not sure what I'm going to do if I can't drop it. It can't be let out that much. Everywhere else fits perfectly and the only thing I need added is a bustle.

  • Okay, you ladies are making me feel better about the dress and alterations timeline. I will definitely call them tonight!

  • I had my first fitting yesterday.  My dress fits like a glove and really just needs cups sewn in and the hem done.  I am thrilled!
