How long is your first dance?

The song we've picked out is about 4:20. I'm not sure if we should cut it down at all?

Ours is about 4:15. I was concerned about it being too long as well, but we aren't going to cut it down b/c I really love the whole song.

Our's is 2:30...it's Ingrid Michaelson's The Way I am.  We wanted something short and sweet.

Ours is 2:57. We already have been practicing dancing to it and it seems to be the perfect length. 

If you're worried it might be too long, practice dance and see if it feels like forever. Maybe if you decide you want to shorten it your DJ will be able to do it without ruining the "good parts."

Ours is 4:20 (though the live version is over 7 minutes ) Bryan Adams' (Everything I do) I do it for you. I thought about trimming it down but I also really like the whole thing.  I think just to get some of the attention off us we're going to have the DJ invite everyone to join us at about the 3 minute point (there's a nice little guitar solo that can cue him)

FI and I have danced to ours and it doesn't feel long at all.

I will say that we just went to a wedding last weekend and I heard some people say "this is a long song" when the couple was doing their first dance. However, I think it's a special moment for the bride and groom more than for the guests.

Once dinner was served and the party got started I don't think anyone was thinking about how long their first dance was anymore.

3:38....were dancing to keith whitley's version of when you say nothing at all..we danced to that in the kitchen on our first anniversary..so its only right to do it as our first dance. Its not too long at all to me.

We're definitley cutting ours down.  Its not a long song to begin with....but I can't freakin' dance!  FI loves to shake his butt, but he's not fond of slow music either.  lol

Just around 3:45-4:00 min I think. The first 30 sec or so is instrumental that we might cut out.

3:30.  I love the whole song, def not cutting it down.  I say go for the whole thing! :-) It's such a special moment.

Ours is just over four minutes. We're going to take a few lessons next month, and the studio has you bring the song so you can learn how to dance to it. SO EXCITED!

The one I'm more concerned about is the father daughter dance. My dad's moves are pretty limited, he's the first to admit he has two left feet! We keep telling everyone we're going to dance to In A Gadda Da Vida, which is almost 20 minutes long.

We haven't picked ours yet, but I don't want more than 3 minutes. It might not seem long to the couple, but it feels like an eternity for the guests.  If I have to cut a verse out, I will, because I don't want my guests standing around waiting for us.
