Oops!

So my mom just e-mailed me saying the first rsvp's came in! So exciting! So I thought I researched all of the etiquette stuff, but for a family member on Fi's side has a widowed aunt. I sent the invitation to her addressed as Ms. She rsvp'd with Mrs.!!! Oh no! I am so embarassed. I thought once you wre widowed you went back to a Ms. I guess not!!!

Re: Oops!

  • My mom is a widow and she still goes by Mrs. [Dad's Last Name]. But don't be too upset about it - it's seriously an honest mistake. My mom isn't upset when people put Ms.

On her TY note, just put Mrs. and you should be all good in the hood.

  • Ok, good, I hope I didn't offend her. I honestly didnt know and didn't even think to look that up. .Just funny that this is the one person FI's family was hoping wouldn't come, but they sent her an invite as a courtesy and she is the FIRST person to rsvp!

  • HAHAH! I sent a courtesy invite to a couple who fiance is quasi-friends with because they sent us an invitation to their wedding last year. We didn't go to theirs (it was all the way up in Maine on Labor Day weekend), but they were like the FIRST people to respond yes to ours! Go figure. This is why they say you should count on full attendance!!! hahaha

  • I think Ms. is fine anyway, just so long as you didn't put Miss!

  • I put Mrs. on my grandma's invitation.  My poppy passed away before we were engaged, but I thought it would look weird if I put Ms. instead. Not sure if she is going to be able to come though because she gets tired just going to the grocery store now. =(
