Share your best teeth whitening method!

Ok ladies...I have two liquid loves: coffee and red wine. So...my pearlie whites take a regular beating. I need a photo ready smile for the wedding, so I was thinking about trying out some teeth whitening products.

Give me suggestions that don't break the bank.

Bonus points for whoever knows of something that doesn't require consistency and constant application. There is a reason I can't rely on the pill as my method of birth control. Consistency is not a strength of mine.

  • After I got my braces off I bought crest white strips from the dentist. It was about 80 bucks for the months supply. Yes you have to wear them 30 min twice a day but if you miss a day or two here and there it doesnt really make a difference. That was about 7 years ago and I drink coffee constantly and I have yet to have them whitened again.

  • I haven't tried it yet but a friend recommended Rembrant's whitening kit. It has trays that mold to your teeth. I can't remember all that's involved but I think you do it twice then you don't have to do it again until you feel you need to. I'm planning to try it soon then maybe try again a month or two before the wedding if needed.
  • Crest 3D white toothpaste works pretty well too. I definitely noticed a difference when I used it.

  • There's also a very cheap 5 minute one you can usually pick up at walmart cvs or walgreens. Can't remember what its called 5 minute plus white or something its a gel. Some kits come with the mouthpiece some its just the gel but it works pretty well. I drink coffee ALL the time and people always comment how white my teeth are and its all I've ever used. I may do it once every few months when I think about it but for a whiter smile you could probably do it once a week or so.

Twlight Teeth !!!! I do mine in the tanning bed usually and then inbetween at home with the light, fi does his just with the light absolutly amazing white its the same formula dentist use. I got my first one from the tanning salon for $40 and since have just been buying it on ebay. If you get it make sure the first one has a light with it and then just order the refills :o) Good luck !
  • Whitestrips.  Do not do ZOOM.  It was the biggest waste of money, my teeth were sensitive for over a week, adn the results were gone w/in 2 weeks (even though I avoided all colored beverages and food). I actually think my teeth look yellower now b/c it ruined the enamel.

Any sort of mouth piece that fully submerges your teeth is bad for your teeth and can make them sensitive even if they never have been :/
  • My dentist advised the Crest vivid white toothpaste (October is a ways out to slowly whiten them) and then he suggested Simply White. I haven't found the simply white yet, but I've been using the toothpaste and it's helped already (even just once a day...I'm horrible about brushing before bed).
  • I think I am going to try that Twilight teeth.. I have used Crest 3d white toothpaste for quite awhile but I have some stains that just arent coming out... it works pretty well tho
