October 2012 Weddings

Checks and some other news

Hey everyone,

Today I had a fairly productive day with wedding things!  I met with the Event Manager at the hotel (just having rooms and brunch there, not the actual wedding) and was very pleasantly surprised.  I hadn't actually seen the hotel but it was beautiful!  She even gave us a space for an afterparty for free on the outdoor terrace (with the promise of a free indoor space if it rains).  I also stuffed and sealed all of my invites, so they are ready to go out next week.

NWR - I mentioned last week that the doctor found 2 nodules on my thyroid.  I did have an ultrasound and they are there, so I have to deal with that.  (Because what bride has time to handle more stress?)  Interestingly though, when they did some blood work, they realized that I have Celiacs Disease.  Of course my first thought was, "But I already picked out my wedding cake!"  It hasn't been an easy day (or week) and now I have to get my thyroid taken care of and get an endoscopy for the Celiacs.  Not quite the way I envisioned celebrating my birthday tomorrow...

Hope you all had great days!

Re: Checks and some other news

  • I hear you.. I need a root canal. Oh, and the crown they put on isn't covered by my insurance because it's considered "cosmetic" so there goes $1000 just before the wedding. Awesome.

My SIL has celiacs. Will they numb you up for the endoscopy?

  • I've had several endoscopies due to having stomach ulcers. You can request to be put to sleep but usually what they will do is given you some medicine that will calm you and make you sleepy. I've never been awake during one due to the sleepy juice.

    also happy birthday!
