Anyone in/from Charleston?

We are driving, so we really only have one free day there - but we will be staying in Charleston, SC and driving to Ft Jackson for graduation /family day on Wed/Thurs. what are some must-see/must-do items while we are there? Thought I'd ask you for suggestions!

We aren't from Charleston, but we stopped there for a day while on one of our roadtrip vacations last October.  We spent the afternoon/evening walking through the downtown through all the little shops and had dinner at an awesome restaurant, which there several to choose from.

I agree with PP...Just exploring is fun. There isi a market downtown on the main drag that's got all sorts of handmade items. There's always good food! A couple of years ago (FI's dad grew up in Charleston, so we go regularly) we went to Magnolia Plantation and did the tour. I love gardens and taking pictures, so it was heaven for me!! Any of the plantations would be fun. I've also been told Angel Oak is a must see, but we've never made it! We usually enjoy the beach too much...
