  • Depends on your area. In my area the prices range from $400-1500.

  • Mine is $1250.00  for a 5 hour reception.
  • Ours is $700 for 8 hours.

  • This may not help too much because my Dj is actually a mutual friend but she is charging me 500 for 5 hours. She did however say that NORMALLY she charges 700 for weddings. HTH.
  • Ours is $475 for 6 hours, nothing special just the general lighting and we are making the playlist.  I've seen them go as high as $2500, but that comes with a bunch of shenanigans we didn't want or need.  Just make sure they will do what you are asking for and pay what you are comfortable with.

<div>If the DJ is providing ceremony music as well as cocktail hour and reception music, I could see it going 8 hours.  Ours is $695 for 5 hours. </div>

  • It depends on your area.  It says that you are from NY so I am assuming NYC.  I would search around your area for DJs.  Look at what you get for the price they want and compare them.  Remember expensive doesn't doesn't always mean great and inexpensive doesn't mean bad.

  • We live in a pricey area, and managed to find a part-time DJ (who gets contracted out for major companies charging $1000-1500) on Craigslist for $550. He said he bases his charges on what he gets paid by the major companies.  So don't be afraid of CL, just be careful :)

We're paying around 3k... I'm in NYC and I had such a hard time finding a classy professional dj for cheaper.  We clicked with this DJ and went with him even though this was way more than I wanted to spend on a DJ.

However, the DJ can make or break a wedding experience so hopefully it'll pay off for us!
