So awhile back, I won a blog contest for $200 toward invitations on Minted.com. I was/am super excited, because I love this invitation (
click me), it's tiffany blue and has the lace detail that has kind of become the theme of the wedding. They were WAY over budget, but with the $200 credit they became well within budget : )
We're not ready to order the invites yet because we need to meet with the venue again to finalize ceremony time and dinner selections. I ordered the sample of this invite, just to make sure that I liked it in person. I still LOVE them, however there's 1 problem...
We are being super formal in our invitation etiquette, and I noticed that these invites only come with 1 envelope (1 envelope for the invite and 1 envelope for RSVP card). Being that we wanted these to be formal, we wanted to use both an inner and outer envelope. I spoke with Minted customer service, and they do not provide outer envelopes. I asked if I could buy them separately, and they do not sell them. Instead they gave me this website (I don't have it anymore) that some brides use. Well, that website was RIDICULOUSLY expensive for just outer envelopes!!!
So, I did some Googling and found Invitation Outlet. I ordered 2 samples of wedding envelope sets (Inner, Outer, and RSVP envelopes) in white and ivory. The samples arrived last week, so I tried them out with the sample invites this weekend. The RSVP card must be larger than a standard RSVP, because it doesn't fit in the RSVP envelope from Invitation Outlet. So I thought, no big deal I'll use the one provided by Minted with the other envelopes from Invitation Outlet...another problem! Neither the "white" nor "ivory" Inner/Outer envelope matches the RSVP envelope provided by Minted.
I know that it shouldn't be that big of a deal to have envelopes a shade off from each other, but I'm so detailed oriented that it drives me crazy! So I spent yesterday afternoon ordering envelope samples from 3 other websites (Paper and More, Paper Source, and LCI Paper)! Ideally, I'd like to just order outer envelopes, but I'm trying to match the shade of white from the rest of the invitation suite. I also ordered a Tiffany blue sample, so see if that would work/look weird.
Does anyone have any other suggestions for envelope websites? The Inner envelope needs to be an A7 (5.25 x 7.25 inches) envelope, the outer A7.5, (5.5 x 7.5) and I'm not sure of the size of the RSVP right now (I can measure it when I get home from work).
PS. FI thought that I was NUTS ordering samples in "super fine white", "luxe white", ecru, "natural white", "natural ivory", etc! He's like isn't white just white?! Apparently not LOL!!! Am I being ridiculous?!?
