When Do I Buy??

I am purchasing and putting together all of our centerpieces and table numbers.  I have an idea of how many people are coming to the wedding, but I wont know for sure until we get all of our RSVPs.  My question is, do I go ahead and purchase what I think I need for my estimated number, or wait until the end of September and purchase exactly what I need, all at one time?

For those of you in a similar situation, what are you doing?

Re: When Do I Buy??

  • i invited 170 people so I did 18 tables and planned accordingly. I would plan for your max and then you may have 1 or 2 left over that you can always use for the place card table, gift table, etc.

  • I bought ours based on the maximum number of tables we could have potentially 20. We are not making our centerpieces, but I did pay the florist for 20, purchase candles, sea glass, numbers, etc. for all the tables. If we have less, we will use the around the venue.

  • We just went ahead and purchased enough for the max amount of tables we could have. I'd rather have extra and know it's done and purchased than be worrying about it up until September.

  • we bought for the max amount of tables we will have and then found out we have rectangal not round tables so 2 per table would have been better... but we will work with what we have lol as they no longer carry at the store what we had bought lol

  • My venue has a little bit of flexibility because they have 2 table sizes, so if push comes to shove, we can supposedly fit 12 at a table.  We are inviting around 140 & I bought 12 sets of vases, so it will work even if everyone comes.  If it looks unreasonable, I can buy the extras individually.

If I were you, I would start on this sooner than your RSVP deadline because that's just extra stress
