Frustrated....

Is anyone else having issues with RSVPs? We had to contact about 45 people to make sure they were coming. Fine I can deal with that. BUT there have been a few who RSVP one way, then change their mind afterwards. They say it's financial reasons (we're traveling to NY) and i understand money is tight, but a few keep changing on me (still unsure if they're coming). i'm just tired of playing the guessing game of who's coming to the wedding... Undecided

Re: Frustrated....

  • I SO hear you on this. Only less than half of the people we invited RSVPed. I think this is totally rude. Plus we made it really easy on them and made the RSVP process online. I knew I was going to have to make some phone calls, but really more than half??

  • AGREE! Our rsvp date was Saturday and today we made a ton of phone calls/texts.  I found out that some people that I don't talk to all the time didn't even get their RSVP.  I hate the USPS!  I am now worried about other people that I'm waiting to hear back from.

I agree half is rude!  I am jealous of the people who are working on/almost done with their seating chart.
  • Give the people a final deadline and say "I need to know by this date.  If you don't call and tell me 'yes, I'm coming' by XX date, I'm marking you as no."  The final date should be the day before your catering numbers are due. They have to make a decision and you can't be held up by it.

Thale, I'm sure you'll be getting some RSVPs in the mail tomorrow and Tuesday (people that sent them out on Saturday).
  • I know it doesn't make you feel any better, but it appears to be the norm! My deadline is next Saturday. I am really no big deal (chairs for ceremony vs. meal planning), and still have less than a third of RSVP's on what we sent out. Call, do what you must, and just check it off as necessary (even my parents have not sent an RSVP!)

  • I think it's the norm, too. My deadline isn't until the 14th, so I know a bunch will probably come in this week, but the thing that bugs me the most are the people who say, "I haven't had a chance to send my card in but you know I'm coming, right?"

No. That's what the card is FOR. Even my mother RSVPed.

I've also had a couple of people change their RSVPs in a matter of days. They sent the card in Yes and then tell me they can't get the night off from work, or they say they can't make it and then change to, "Well, I might not make it to the ceremony but I'll be there for dinner." UGH, how am I supposed to keep track of all the flip-floppers?

  • I feel you.  The invites have been an absolute nightmare for me, and I'm having a hard time not tearing out my hair.

My rsvp deadline was 09/01.  To date, I've gotten 3 cards in the mail, as well as 1 person who had the GALL to try to make me feel bad about rejecting their attempt to plus one yesterday. aaaaaaaaaaaaaaarg.

THIS!!!! I've had this happen probably 5 times...I'm sick of playing guessing games. Just tell me yes or no. I didn't think it was that difficult.
