I'm a bit behind the game here, my shower was back on August 11th but I finally have some down time tonight to share!
My bridesmaids threw the shower. Showers in my family are normally surprises but since I live in NC and all of mine and my FI's family live in NJ I had to be in on it. Some things were surprises though. It was a lunch shower at a hibachi restaurant (Japanese where they cook on the tables) which turned out to be a lot of fun.
For the invite my sisters dug up an old photo of me as a geisha girl for halloween.
The other surprise was one of my college roommates driving out from PA for the shower. I'm on the right, my MOH is in the middle. I hadn't seen either in almost 2 years!
And this I'm just using as a way to brag about my gorgeous nephew.
My Mom did a cupcake dessert, three different flavors. Strawberry marscapone, Chocolate espresso and lemonchello. They were amazing and gorgeous.
Dessert table....and there were so many gifts. It was actually overwhelming at first!
My bridesmaids got me a Tiffany necklace, its a cowboy boot. Very similar to the ones I'll be wearing under my gown
My MOH also got us Tiffany champagne flutes with our wedding date engraved on them.
I also didn't register for china because I collect antique fiestaware. They put that on the shower invite and I ended up with some beautiful, beautiful pieces. The blue covered dish was made in the early 1930's and theres only a few of them left today. Now I have one!
The pitcher is from the '40s.
It was awesome. I was a nervous wreck before hand but it turned out to be a lot of fun. We were only able to bring about half of our gifts home this trip. The rest are at my Mom's so it should be fun when we go up in 3 weeks to go through them again then!
