What do you think/Would you use this at a wedding?

Video guestbook - http://www.thrilledforyou.com/

Sorta kinda similar to the Marc Anthony invention, but it's for the guestbook only. We don't have any ideas for the guestbook, and now I'm considering this since we have easy access to macs/ipads. If you were at a wedding, would you use this? I'm not sure I can imagine many of my family and friends using it, but if they don't, at least it wouldn't be wasting a lot of money or time putting it together.

I want to get some more opinions before I see what FI thinks, cause I know that tech-nerd boy will be all over it.

It's not for me, but if it was there at a wedding I went to, meh, I don't know... I'd feel funny leaving a video, but you may get some funny one's from your friends who have had a few. I'm just not keen on this new age technology when it comes to weddings. I like a paper guestbook, but that's just me. If you like it, enough people I'm sure will use it.

I guess this is pretty similar to my photobooth guest book. As a guest I would probably wait until I had a few to leave a video.

As a guest, I wouldn't use it.  I would not feel comfortable being recorded.  Although I'm sure many other people would.

I didn't even HAVE a guestbook.  IMO they're not necessary.

I guess I would leave a video message after having a few drinks, depending on how I knew the couple. If they were work collegues, no, but close friends, probably. You know your crowd best. For me, I know having a photobooth will be pushing it. The software is cheap enough to not care if people don't do it, but will you be upset if not a lot of people do it and then you do not have anything?

    Musicheals - I didn't have a guestbook either.

I would probably only use it after I had a few (or 7). Otherwise, I think I would feel awkward being recorded. But that's just me.

Glad to hear I'm not alone.  In fact, I did buy one but ended up deciding not to use it and was able to return it and get my money back.

I will say that at least this feels a little more "optional" than the other video guestbook/escort card one does.  So if you think your guests are the type that will leave you messages then it's just a nice extra.  But like jelybean said, don't get too upset if you don't get a lot of messages.

I toyed with the idea up until two days before the wedding.  I considered making little note card type things that would then be incorporated into my scrapbook (if I ever get around to making it).  But in the end, I decided I didn't feel like making anything and buying something would be a wast of money for me personally.  And you know what, no one even noticed!

Thanks for the opinions. I also like the more traditional look and feel of weddings without techy gadgety stuff, which puts me on the fence. I think what I'll do is if I can't think of a regular guestbookish thing that can be displayed in my house, I'll consider this again.

Someone told me about a picture frame matting that the guests sort of etch into the glass? So it it more subtle than the mat with the black sharpie messages. She said from across the room you can't see the signatures, but when you get up close you can read the messages. Not sure where you would get one...
