QOTD 6/20

So since I am starting to not like so of the things about my job, I want to know what you think about your job.  Do you love it or hate it or are you somewhere in between?

  • I'm in between, I'm not in love with the work I do but I really like the people I work with (minus a few kill joys hahahaha.)

  • I'm also in between. I don't mind my job but it can get pretty boring sometimes. I do like the people that I work with though.

  • I;ve worked at the same company for 7 1/2 years and advancement has hit a stand still.  It's time to move on.

  • I really like the people I work with, the job is ok. I'm good at it but it's not what I ultimately wnat to do.

  • I'm totally in the wrong profession but I couldn't have picked a better place to work within my profession.

  • I hate my job! I hate not having real people interaction. I'm stuck in a cubicle all day and can't get up except my breaks and lunch. I was a waitress for 8 years so I'm so much more used to moving around and doing things! And plus the company has been like out of work for several weeks...were waiting on some projects to come through. But until that happens we just kind of sit there and wait on someone to call in and otherwise I'm staring at a screen that says you have no more calls please notify a supervisor.

  • I absolutely love my job! I don't think there could be a better job out there for me! I'm a nanny to two amazing kids and have been with this family for 3 years. The only sad thing about my job is that I can't be with the same family forever. The kids will grow up and they won't need me anymore. But that's going to be awhile before that happens so I have to just enjoy it while they are still young.
  • I'm in between. I get paid well for what I do (in home care), but its not something I want to do for the rest of my life. I work for a family that is really rich and can get on my nerves every once in a while because they don't care about others all the time. However, they are like a second family to me, I just have my days. ;)

  • I'm in between. I like the pay, but my dream job would be midwife. I've always wanted to be a midwife. I sit in a cubical all day as well. I do work for a really well known company so I have job security and the phones are always ringing. I work tasks through out the day but I also miss the customer interaction. Before this I worked in a pharmacy. So there was a lot of interaction there.

  • In between. It's been a while since I've had some time off, so I'm kind of closer to "UGH KILL ME" than I ought to be, ha.

  • I loved what I was doing at the hospital, and now switching to a new job, I won’t know until August when I start. I have a feeling I will be in-between with the new job. I know I am going to love the majority of it, but hate the traveling.

  • I love my job. I love working with my kids everyday and other teachers. I know that I'm doing what I was meant to do.

I hate feeling like my job doesn't end when I walk out the door. I don't know how much you guys know, but it's not a great time to be a public teacher in Wisconsin. Not even the government aspect, just the attitude that a lot of people have. I hate reading an article online then reading the comments that are all negative towards teachers. It's just a bummer.

  • I am super annoyed with my job.  I work in sales, so I'm 100% commission, work long hours, and have a pretty long commute.  I am definitely ready for something new!  Luckily, I have a team of people I work with, and they are wonderful. One of my coworkers is even one of my BMs!

  • I like certain aspects of my job.  I like working with kids but don't love all the paperwork and lack of time getting it done.  I like a couple of the people I work with but not all and it especially sucks that some people slack or don't do their job and there are no repercussions.
I do like that I get summers off though.

  • Eh, depends on the day... today is a - " I can bare it b/c although I'm not challenged and kind of bored, and probably under paid... I have time to plan my wedding" day...
  • I love my job, and all the insanity that comes with it.  ;)

  • I love my job and all of my coworkers are awesome, some have become really good friends.  I work in an office (by myself) MON-FRI 7am-5pm no weekends,  doing dispatch/secretarial work for an above-ground mining company(sand and gravel mining). The majority of people I interact with are construction companies but also customer service with the general public once in a while if they stop in my office.  The pay is wonderful and very little stress, which is a huge factor.  One of the best aspects is that my hours are pretty stable so I can actually have a life outside of work.  Couldn't say that much for my previous job in retail because my hours were so flexible I couldn't plan anything.  I had worked in retail for 11 years before getting this job opportunity, thanks to my mom, who also works within the same company, just different location.

  • I love my job!  The projects I work on are interesting and challenging; my boss is very supportive and makes sure I'm always enjoying what I'm working on; and the people I work with are awesome!  The company is big, and sometimes I feel like I'm just a number, but the money is good (for someone 2 years out of school) and I get benefits.  Plus, they're really flexible on schedule (you can do a 7-4 or 8-5, or 9-6 day, as long as you get your hours in, you're fine).

Right now I'm in between. for the past year I have slowly started to really hate my job. Mostly because of a horrible boss. Well back in feb I was suppose to get moved to a new team, so I decided not to leave. Fast forward to now and I still work with her, they held off moving me until the project was done. she is making sure the project doesn't finish. Well they caught on and finally disbanded the team on monday but it looks like they are going to push me to keep working on a project with her, and she doesnt want me on that team. If I get away from her I will stick around because I do like my coworkers and my new boss. Also to add to the reason I hate my job is that they just announced promotions and awards and was told they are more concerned about helping the higher levels then the jr employees, i have been there for 4 years and got my masters and every year they tell me I am proving I am a great asset but its not my time, so again I got the better luck next year... I am completely under paid, like 20 30K under. So after I got that news last week I said I was done with my company and have started to apply to leave but I am still undecided since I do like what I am doing...

I HATE my job. The pay is crap and the hours are even crappier. The only 2 reasons I'm still there are a) I like about 90% of the people I work with and b) they are super flexible with my school schedule. This job has an expiration date, probably of next summer. Thank heavens.

  • Ugh. I've been on the regular site off and on all evening and never saw this thread. I'm on the mobile site and it shows up. I'm in between. I hate the job itself but like some of the people I work with and some of the customers I see regularly. I have an opportunity to move up but I'm afraid doing so will trap me into working the same crappy type of job for the rest of my working years.

  • I like this hospital better than the last one I was working for. I like my co-workers. I am just getting tired of working weekends and holidays because everyone else in mine and FI's family work M-F jobs...so sometimes I feel like I'm missing out on the important part of life.

  • I love my job (most of the time) and half the people I work with the other half I literally cannot stand but I think that is what happens when you work with all women all the time. There are some days I when I am at work that I think what have I gotten myself into, but i always go back!
