  • I like them and it's one of the things that we've really looked forward to.  We are throwing around the idea of doing a semi-joint one in Vegas.  We would stay there for two nights so the first night would be joint and the second night would be separate.

  • I've only been to one, I organized one for a good friend of mine this past summer (her MOH lived out of town). I'm all for one for me, and my bridal party's been psyched about it, too. I have no idea what or when it'll be, though. All I asked was tell me WHEN it is. I don't mind what we do being a surprise, but I don't want my MOH to be like, "Hey, you want to come over for dinner?" and then, SURPRISE! It's actually your bachelorette party. If anything, so I don't show up to my own bachelorette in ratty jeans, a nerdy tee-shirt, and Keds. ;)

As far as bachelor parties, I know my FI's party is going to throw him one, but I have a feeling I'll never know very much about what all it entails. ;) Fine by me! I trust them all.

  • I love b-parties!  I just want a small girls night out.  Or a night at the beach or something... but I have no idea what they will plan.  Like PP I'd like to know something about it so It's not total surprise.

FI thinks they will either go to a tractor pull or a fishing trip.

  • I am ok with bachelors/ bachelorette parties.

My fi is having a week long party. First he is going to Cali to his brothers house with his dad and his groomsmen. there they will go to an Angels Yankee game and maybe the beach. Then drive to Vegas and party for a night or two. I t sounds like a lot of fun and I hope he has a great time.

my sister (moh) thought of some ideas such as the "jersey experience" where we go and get our hair and makeup done at gasby from Jerseylicious and then for to the Jersey Shore or Alantic City for the weekend. Or "Sex in the City night" and go to NYC for the weekend. in NYC there is a hunkamania strip club where my 20 year old bridesmaid can get in.

Also, my coworkers are planning to kidnap me and go to Wildwood for the weekend to do a little side bachelorette/get away from work weekend.

  • I'd like to have one, but I don't want it to be a "wild and crazy night." I have no issues with FI having one - I trust him. Bottom line.

  • I like them. I feel like i've been to several over the last couple of years and so has FI. I've already told my MOH (sister) that since im not a big drinker I would just like to do something low key, maybe go to the beach for the weekend or spa day, no bar hopping.
I know my brother in law will plan something for FI, he has a knack for planning bachelor parties for all his friends, i dont care what he does, strip club and all, i trust him completely and hope he has a good time!
  • I've never been a fan, but thats probably because I'm a home-body. I'm assuming my bridesmaids are not planning one. I haven't heard any mention at least and since we all live crazy distances from each other it seems unlikely.

Fi is having one, kinda. His best man is planning a deep sea fishing trip for him, the groomsmen and both our fathers. He isn't really the partying type anyway, this is more his speed. He fortuantly planned it the same time as my bridal shower to cut down on travel needs for everyone involved.

  • i don't personally care for them, but I don't have a huge problem with them either. FI and I are pretty low-key. If he has one, he says he just wants to go play paint-ball and pool with the guys. If I did, it'd probably just be me and the girls watching cheesy romantic movies with junk food everywhere, although a spa day sounds reeaaallly good...

  • FI and I aren't big fans of them.

I told my BMs that I DO NOT want the traditional bachelorette party.  No strippers, penis paraphernalia, etc!  I'd be happy with going to get mani/pedi's, a movie night, or just going out to dinner.

FI feels the same way about a bachelor party.  We're just not into the whole "wild and crazy night" thing.

I like them and can't wait to see what my girls have planned for me!  FI is going to New Orleans for his and I'm not sure what's going on with mine??  I think the BMs are in the process of figuring things out now because I got an email asking me a bunch of questions the other day.  I'd love to just do something relaxing - go to a spa, dinner or do a wine tour.  LOVE wine!
  • We're planning a Vegas trip/bachelorette party this summer! My good friends are from 5 different states and some of us haven't seen each other in 3 years so it's just an excuse to have a reunion. I'm not even a wild/crazy/party person but i'm going to pay for a suite for all of us...there might be 12 of us, if everyone who expressed interest will come.

My fiance and his friends all live in the same state so they're just going to do something locally.

  • We will probably both have them, but they will probably not be the traditional type with strippers, etc.

FI wants to go golfing for his or to Atlantic City to gamble . . . I hope they just go golfing lol. We don't have money to lose right now.

I would like to just do a girl's night out with drinks and dancing. I would totally rock all of the stupid things like a sash, tiara, penis hat . . . whatever. I don't care.  :)

  • I love them!! I'm not all about penis stuff everywhere, but a night out with the girls and dancing is awesome!! I was in a wedding this summer and for the bachelorette we had planned on bar hopping in a limo bus around milwaukee. We ended up just driving around drinking and dancing on the bus. It was a fun bonding day!

FI is having a low-key bachelor party. Probably just a night with the boys.

  • We will do something for our bachelor/ette party.  It will not be the traditional bar hoping drinking stripper thing.  I would actually like to go to an amusement park for mine with a girls night it after.   I am not sure what FI  will do, maybe go to the racino or play video games with his guys?

  • I have never been to one, but am looking forwards to my own (as I doubt I will be going to one before then)

I know that my sister and bms are planning a fun night out, which will include introductory pole dancing lessons...

As for FI, he has been to his fair share of BPs, they all seem to turn out the same. I'm fine with that.
  • They aren't a nexessity for me....I won't get mad if someone doesn't throw me one. FI is going to the mountains this weekend as part of his cousins bachelor weekend (Kevins getting married this month) it'll be like Justin his Dad, Kevin, Kevins bro and dad etc. They won't get into any trouble its just a weekend away...FI wants to go to Talledega race for his lol...

  • I have never been to a bachelorette party and could care less about having one. If I do, it will most likely involve a lot of wine and vintage board games. But my MOH is moving to California, so I may not get one at all. FI will be having a bachelor party and it will be the traditional kind of bachelor party. I've told him not to get arrested or bring home any diseases, but beyond thaT I just plan on rolling my eyes and looking the other way.

  • Wow at first I though that I was going to be the only one that said that they are not for FI and I.  We both had them for our first weddings and we both feel that we don't want another one.  Neither of us are into strippers or bar hopping.  I personally would not want a mostly naked girl dancing in front of my FI or even touching him.  I think that it is disrespectful.  On top of that I really don't understand when people call b-parties their whole last hurrah.  I mean you're not going anywhere, your getting married.

If its a low key kinda thing, I would probably go to that but I would rather it be co-ed because FI and I love to spend time together.

  • I can go either way. I've only been to two in my life. One was a Passion Party that was crazy and though I did have some fun, it wasn't my cup of tea. The second one I went to was more of a girls night in where the MOH hired a masseuse to come in and give everyone a chair massage and we drank some fruity drinks and ate lots of finger foods. That was pretty fun.

I'm not sure if anyone is going to throw me a bachelorette party, and I won't be hurt if they don't. FI will definitely be having one, I just told him he could look but not touch.

  • My friends have taken advantage of the occasion to turn it into a reunion weekend for everyone, since we are spread out all over the country.  I'm one of the last people to get married in this group, so we've already had some memorable weekends!  Usually we've gone to the river houses, ranch houses or beach houses of our friends and family - it's free, and we can act like fools and have dance parties without anyone seeing us.  :)

My bach weekend is planned for Labor Day weekend, and is going to be at the beach house of one of the girls hosting - can't wait!

I like them in a low key sort of way.  I don't get the whole "last single night out" description as my last single night out was several years ago--before I met FI.  But I think they can just be a fun "girls night out" experience.  We are talking about doing a beach day/drinks at night or a winery.  I want to try to keep it as low cost for the girls as possible as I'd hate to have anyone back out due to cost (which I had to do for my cousin's weekend in Boston bachelorette).
I know the best man is planning FI's bachelor party.  I know my FI would love a night at the casino, if it's in CT or Atlantic City, I don't think it really matters.  My guess is that's what they'll end up doing.

  • I will definitely have one, probably two. One with my co-workers, and another with my friends and b-party. We will probably go to a nice restuarant and then out for a couple drinks.

FI might go to Atlantic City. He's never had a sip of alcohol in his life, so he won't go to a bar. I would absolutely be ok with him going to a strip club, but that's not that his thing, so we'll see what his brothers plan. He's not the partying type.

  • I've never been to one but I know my girls are planning one for me.  I agree with some of the PP that I REALLY don't want the whole penis/stripper thing and my BM all know this.  We're probably going to do a weekend in Atlantic City since it's not too far away.  FI was planning on a long weekend in Vegas but if that doesn't work out he's doing a golfing trip to Myrtle Beach.

  • i have been to strip clubs both male and female < not that i have a problem with them > but i dont want to have a stripper at my bachlorette party ! Fi will probally go to a strip club and i am fine with that but i look at this as spending quality time with my closest friends! as of right now there has been talk about going to disney world < one of my bm's lives there and also works there so we could get into the parks for free and we would also have a place to stay> one of my other bm suggested taking pole dancing classes< which i think would also be fun...although i cant see my sister enjoying that and she is the moh>... who knows maybe we can do that in Flordia lol i dont mind the penis stuff i just dont want to see strippers!
  • I'm looking forward to mine. My MOH will prolly do the same thing I did for her, a night of laser tag, mini putt and neon bowling followed by a jaunt to the strip club to meet up with the guys. I dont drink so the whole pub crawl thing is pointless to me!

  • I think that bachelorette/bachelor parties are what you make them. It's not my or my FI's style to have a raunchy party with strippers, edible panties, or anything like that-- though it's totally okay if someone else is into that! For my bachelorette, my bridesmaids and I are renting a beach house for the weekend and just having a laidback girls' weekend. My FI wants his bachelor party to be a camping trip with his friends. Neither is an especially wild time, but we'll each have fun with our friends, which I think is really the main point. :)
