So I started out my wedding morning by being woken up with a phone call telling me that the dance floor was ruined. Luckily, everyone was exaggerating and the dance floor was fine! I was happy and bouncy, and couldn't wait to get the day started! We started out Friday night with our rehearsal (which went HORRIBLY!!!) and then dinner and games at Dave & Buster's (which was awesome...we couldn't have picked a better place!!). I then spent the night in a hotel with two BM's and an OOT good friend.
I woke up Saturday morning ready to go! My BM's showered and then we left to head to my parents house where we were having the wedding. It took a little coordination because my now DH had stayed there the night before and was helping set up. I managed to get in the house without him seeing me. He eventually left while I was showering to get ready in the hotel suite I had stayed in. I helped set up some tables until my hair/MUA was ready for me. Once I was done getting all of that jazz done, It was time to get me into my dress!! My BM's got me dressed and then my photographers took me outside for our first look! I cried, but that was expected!!
We finished taking all our our WP pics and family pics and then I went and hid inside the house as guests started to arrive! A lot of family and WP mingled outside as guests came up, which was totally fine! Everything looked wonderful!! 5:30 came and the ceremony started, and it went off without a hitch!! The rehearsal may have been a disaster, but that's apparently a good recipe for a good run through! The ceremony was beautiful, although I don't remember much other than holding onto DH and smiling! I teared up a bit as my daddy walked me down the aisle, but I made it through the ceremony without crying!
After the ceremony, we finished the last couple of family pics that we hadn't been able to take beforehand. Then we got introduced, ate dinner, and got the party started!! We danced most of the time, got a lot of our parents to join...The group dances definitely get a lot of people out there and shaking it! My brother was the DJ, so I knew everything that was getting played. The only thing we missed was when he played Gangham Style and apparently DH's dad was out there dancing to it too!! Our photographers had us off to the side doing extended exposure sparkler pictures (which we are super excited to see!!) We also had a photo booth that we spent plenty of time with friends in!! Can't wait to see those!!
Overall the night was great, but we definitely missed a few things! We forgot to give the bartender our special bottle of champagne for toasts, we forgot to bring out toasting flutes, I forgot to tape my mom's penny from her wedding to my shoe, etc. Small things that you realize later, but really don't matter. It was a wonderful evening and I wouldn't change anything except maybe staying and dancing later!!
We're in the airport during our layover on our way back home from our FABULOUS honeymoon in the Bahamas!! I will post about that later!! Until then...
And some from family:
My favorite from others...my daddy walking me down the aisle, and I'm apparenlty very happy to see someone in the audience!!
