hair dilemma-hair board in unrepsonsive

I recently cut my hair pretty short and i love it! so does my fiance:) i'm going to have short hair for our wedding but my mom is insistent that i will look weird without some sort of hair adornment. I have a hard time with hair bands becuase they are always too tight and give me a headache. I'm not planning to wear a veil (I'll make a birdcage veil if time permits) and I'm not a huge fan of hair clips.

Here is my hair inspiration.

  • You don't HAVE to wear any thing in your hair. I think that style is great.

What about statement earrings? Then there's something sparkly but it's not hurting your head.

  • I agree with the earrings idea.  Also, a small hair clip might look nice and not be a tight headband.

  • I think that's gorgeous! I think a birdcage fascinator with a big flower and maybe a couple of feathers to get the glam in there like this <clicky> or <clicky>

i will likely do a similar veil if i have time.  i do ahve these earring from my fiance:

  • I don't think you'd need anything.  Especially with the styles you posted.  But I think a birdcage veil would look great with that style!  You can find them online, especially on ebay for super cheap.  But I think even a small hair pin or statement earings if you want would work too.

  • my fiance doesn't want me to wear a veil becuase he wants to see my eyes perfectly clear...which im fine with!!  if i did wear one, it would be for pix.  i'd probably make my own out of the crinoline from a vintage dress i have.
  • What about a nice, perhaps small, hair comb?  If you wanted a little glitz or something that might help and you could just sort of push it in from the side...I'm not describing it well, like in these pictures here:

Same. I did buy a small birdcage veil that didn't cover my eyes but I really didn't like it with my hair trial and dress fitting so I nixed it. It only cost me $25 on Etsy so it's no big deal.

  • If you FI doesn't want you to wear a veil and you don't want to, then don't let pressure from others make your decision.  I honestly love bidcage veils and I think it would look amazing with your hairstyle, but I also think a nice pair of statement earrings would be beautiful.

  • I love that type of hairstyle! I agree with the others, go with what you would like and are comfortable in. Earrings are great, and a personal favorite! I agree you would probably look amazing in a birdcage veil, but veils aren't my thing at all. You might browse bridal hair pins on etsy or pinterest, you may see something small and simple that give you a little something, should you decide to. If you don't, then don't let someone else sway you!

  • I went to google images and typed in short hair weddings, lots of good pics not everyone had a veil or clip or whatever, perhaps you could show your Mom to make her feel better.
  • thanks ladies!
