Depends on the couple. If it's not something you'd normally wear it'll look weird. I'm wearing converse but FI would look ridiculous in them and most of the BP.
I was actuallyon their website today and custom made some as ideas for FI and GM's they came out really neat and I had also written groom on one. I think it's a really cute playfull idea and can be done in a really nice way. It does depend on the couple but I also feel like anything can be done as long as it's well put together. If your having a black tie wedding then maybe skip the Converse but if it's outside and your having a low key or hip wedding go for it.
Once in awhile, right in the middle of an ordinary life, love gives us a fairy tale.
I think FI wants to wear converse. I told him he had to wear the dreaded "shiny shoes" for the ceremony and formal pics and then I don't care if he goes barefoot, but I think he wants converse. Or carolina boots. Who knows haha
I don't think my FI and the groomsmen are wearing converses. They would probably all love it but it won't really go with the wedding exactly. Plus their tuxedo rentals come with the shoes and I don't think we can add the extra expense of buying the gm's shoes.
My FI's friend did this at his wedding and they looked absolutely ridiculous (FI was the BM). They had such an upscale, over-the-top, fancy wedding, and then the groomsmen had sneakers on.... If the wedding wasn't so fancy, I think they would have looked just fine, but it felt really inappropriate to me... especially since the rest of the wedding party looked so classy.
Depends on the wedding and the people involved, I think.
FI was talking about this when we first got engaged, but I think he has since moved away from that idea. He deep down wants a nice new pair of dress shoes, so this is a good excuse to splurge on them. I couldn't care less about his shoes.
in my humble opinion, while i think this is a fun and cute look for pictures, i personally would want everyone much more formal for the ceremony. obviously, if you are having a casual ceremony, then it might be more appropriate.
Re: tuxedos and converse
Are you thinking of doing something like this?
