Help! Guest/RSVP question

I invited a friend from way back when.  We have stayed in contact over the years and I invited her.  Last time I saw her was ealy in the summer when a mutual friend of ours passed away.  I sent her a message telling her that the RSVP deadline was last friday and I needed to know if she was coming. 
She sends back "yes I'm coming, it will be me and a guest and my son"
Okay...wow...I had her down for 1 not 3...but whatever.  I send her back another message today that appologizes for being pushy but I need to know WHO the guest will be as we have things going to the printer and I need the name of her "guest". 
Her reply: "Can u just put guest of T? I'm sorry, but I'm not sure who yet, depends on babysitting available... It'll prolly be my mom, lol"
Im confused...annoyed...I dont really even know how to respond.  So is she coming with her son?  Is she waiting to see if she can get a date?  Its not a backyard bbq...its a wedding...what do I say to this woman????  I'm lost....first guest problem I've had...

I would have told her that the invitation was adressed to her only and that you cannot accomodate extra +1s (+2s LOL).

I swear some people need to learn how to be good wedding guests LOL!

I would have also told her that the invite was for her.  Since you didn't say that, ask her straight up if she is bringing her son and a guest or not.  Let her know that the final numbers need to be in by whatever date, (even fib and tell her Friday) and after that point you can't change it. I would also remind her that weddings are expensive and you were really expecting +2 but are willing to accomodate if she can confirm by Friday.

well Cathy...I sent her back a reply and took your advise.  She will either find it rude or she will understand.  We will see what happens...thank you for the input...I appreciate it!

Wow, you are a much nicer bride than I am. I would have told her that the invite was just for her and you can't accommodate her additional uninvited "guests." and if she wouldnt come without them, then oh well, i guess theyre not going. You were perfectly within your right to do so. Since you didn't say that, I guess you're kinda stuck with trying to accommodate these extras. I would say what Cathy suggested. Good luck!

so she replies....says she just got back from moving all her stuff from New Orleans back here...to our hometown and has three days to find a new house and get moved, so this isn't something she can arrange this week and get me an answer...so just put her down for just herself and she will come alone.

<div>LOL I know! I'm 31 and I've only brought a date ONCE to a wedding and it was my cousin's wedding last May and my fiance came as my date and met my family for the first time! I would never consider bringing some random person just to bring a date when people are paying $25-50/person! If you aren't serious with someone then don't bring them as a date! Why do people think it's ok to bring just anyone with them?! I haven't run into this to much and my guest list is smaller then I expected by at least 25 people so I'm good. My dad is now wanting to invite some coworkers since we are under our original number of around 200. Invited 250, guest list at 175 at the moment.</div>
